I work at a fry's electronics store (it pays my rent and allows me to go to school part time) as a computer salesman. Today we received the LG IPS236v-pn monitor about 30 minutes before I went home. I promptly got my supervisor to demo it, and personally had 3 mins to look at it before having to go home. I was wondering if anybody got more info than what I got below.

I know the monitor uses a 65w AC adapter
HDMI, DVI, VGA
VESA mountable with included risers and screws.

Frys info (which has very little besides the model number, and the price which is $259.99)
http://www.frys.com/product/6535723

Info from the CES video
5 million to 1 dynamic contrast ratio (what a useless stat)
178 degree viewing angles.
1920x1080 resolution

Korean Blogpost about the monitor here

Google Translate of the korean blogpost (I am assuming the info is correct.)

Info from the Korean Blog
6ms G2G response time on the thickness of 19.5mm,
brightness 250cd/m2.

Anymore info?
Any reviews?

Hey there.

Just registered to post this reply.

I've spent literally the last two days browsing the web trying to find a new monitor that suits my needs. I believe this monitor from LG does the trick, and at a brilliant price point.

As such, I'm going to save you some time and....

BAM! : http://www.digitalversus.com/lg-flatron-ips226v-p357_10200_35.html

There you go! That's the only comprehensive review for the new flatron I could find. Not to mention all the videos pretty much on Youtube are Chinese.

From what I've read the new IPS tech, despite having a relatively slow response time of 6ms compared to most monitor's 2ms, still manages to perform the same without any blurring. Which is most impressive.

Also there's two models coming out the 21.5" and the 23". With about £100 difference for a few inches, I'll be just picking up the 21.5". Finding one in stock though... now that's the problem!

Anyhoo. Hope this helps mate.

Hmmm... IPS, LED backlight for low power consumption, 1080p, good price. Now if only it was proper 1920x1200 resolution with a better design, then I'd bite.
