The display is definitely the most interesting part of this phone. Quantum display promises to bring, the longevity of LCD, improved contrast, while being more efficient then OLED when displaying high APL scenes and (probably) slightly less efficient at displaying low APL scenes.

Seems like a slam dunk, if it can deliver on the promises.

That depends which review you read, but most I have read put the S6 battery at so-so and slightly below the S5 (they did reduce the mAh rating to get it thinner).
 
SD card slot and user-replaceable battery = win for me!

I visited a DC T-Mobile store yesterday and played with S6/S6 Edge/Nexus 6. I came away with a few impressions: 1) N6 is too big for me. So if I want a Nexus phone, I have to wait. 2) The S6 Edge is cool but just a novelty. Not worth the price premium. Would opt for the standard S6. 3) LG G3 and Sony Z3 both fine in terms of size. Will wait for G4 and Z4 reviews.
 
Nice looking IMHO, and keeping a user replaceable battery/mSD card slot is a lot of win.

Going to be interesting to see the sales numbers of this versus the S6.

I think SS is going to have a tough time hanging onto marketshare with their latest design/strategy...

It doesn't actually say Quantum Dot display. Just Quantum display, which could just be the name of the display, and have nothing to do with quantum dots.

Iirc, Sony actually had TVs with quantum dot displays... It wasn't a huge leap. I'd take an oled in the G4 myself, like they have in the g flex 2.

Its leather on the back and glass on the front, hows that plastic?

I think it looks pretty good, particularly the tan leather one.

My phones already got a SD805 and I think that the 810 is going to be a side grade (and thats being generous).

Most reports say it is going to have an SD 808 instead of the 810 and will be less power hungry?

I've owned a few of both, and am currently on a T-Mobile G3. The G3 has the illusion of bigger bezels because of the difference in color . The sides of the face of the G3 are black regardless of color, whereas the G2 has a face that is black on the inside and body color on the outside. If you take a look at the actual non-screen portion of the sides, they're exactly the same size though.

It's kind of a weird optical illusion. I thought the same thing as you when I first bought the G3.

no, hold it up and look closer. each side of the bezel next to the screen is like a whole 0.75mm wider
 
From what I have been reading it looks like the G4 will be used as the base hardware for the new Nexus 5. That could be a pretty sweet device if true.

Hmm I always thought the G3 had the slimmest bezels around and the best screen to body ratio. Seems an odd thing to hold against the phone.

Honestly I don't see it but I've never taken my G2 and tried it side by side with a G3.

There are a few things I think to legitimately criticize - ok screen, average battery life, all plastic construction. Bezels...not so much.

Where are you reading that? What would The New N5 bring to the table besides stock Android? (That is a big plus in my book!) Any info on release date? And how does this fit with the huawei rumors?

I would love a refreshed Nexus 5 if it were available on Verizon. I am sorely tempted by the Nexus 6 as it is, but even as a Note user I find it to be a bit too large. This is still solidly in the rumor category it seems.

That article is speculation heavy. Here is another one that says that LG and Huawei will each build a Nexus this year, one a tablet and one a phone:

It is debatable who I would rather have build the next Nexus. On one hand Huawei makes their own SoC, and its on a better process than what Qualcomm sells. It would be nice to have a competitor for the S6.

On the on the other hand LG is preparing a fantastic camera for this upcoming G4, which would be nice to have in a Nexus. Plus it seems like every time Google makes a new Nexus with a first-time Nexus company there are build quality issues. You got to hope that after two tries LG has it down.

The big question for the G4 is the 808 vs the 810. I could see the 808 having an advantage because two fewer "big" cores means less throttling, but the 808 has a worse GPU than the 805! That means yet another LG phone with a ton of pixels but not a ton of GPU power.

If the Nexus really is based on the G4, and it has a 808, than the 6th Nexus would have a more powerful GPU than the 7th one. That would be crazy. It also might be unavoidable, as Huawei is putting crap 6xx series Mali GPUs in their SoCs (like so many Chinese companies do). The real dream is a Huawei Nexus, but as part of getting that contract they have to make a SoC for Google that combines their best CPU combo with a 7xx series Mali GPU.

Nexus may have been recently based on the G phone series, but that doesn't mean the next one is a G4 with AOSP.
All the G line seem to have a bigger battery (and better battery life), better camera, better hardware overall. the big critical factor is LG infused Android vs AOSP...and the latter wins hands down.
So don't be surprised if the nice camera doesn't make it into the Nexus line. I think we don't know what we can predict off of Nexus right now; it used to be high performance at a budget price because they cut corners with things like the camera...but now with the expensive Nexus 6 its thrown a ratchet into that idea. Rumors that Nexus will split into two lines emphasizes this as well.

That said, I was reading android dev forums for the G3, and the consensus is that it wasn't AOSP friendly which has led to a weak community....I do hope that the G4 is far more AOSP friendly.

Maybe you should go look at some reviews for yourself.
Battery is NOT better than the S5.
And saying its better than the iP6 is like saying a Corolla is faster than a Civic.
Look at this chart and the S6 is worst off than the G2, S5 etc...
