The price difference should be pretty small these days and there is a substantial general quality difference between the two in favor of the G2. I really don't see the sense in handicaping yourself in an area as important as phone choice just to save $100 every 1 or 2 years.

The "nexus experience" is something pretty vacuous and esoteric as far as I'm aware and there are actually aspects of the "LG experience" that are useful. Take for example the ability to get into the camera app by holding volume down when the screen is off, then taking a picture one handedly by pressing volume down again. Or Quick Note which you can access from your notification bar or navigation bar. Multi-app split-screen that works with every app is also possible if you root and mod it a bit. really useful when you get messages/notifications while watching a video, etc.

The G2 is a phone I strongly recommend rooting and modding though.

I have a N5 and i can honestly say I kind of want the g2. The battery life would be better AND the camera on the g2 is much better in low light. Especially videos my friends can see alot of in low light than my n5 does when recording. Software updates is negligible Really.

Thanks everyone, now I'm leaning towards buying a G2 =)

I like this Swappa site, if it is that reliable, I don't see why I shouldn't go with a used one and save a whole bunch of money. How do they handle returns and such?

One more thing, I can't be bothered to install custom roms, but I just want to be able to root my phone and get rid of the crapware (boy does AT&T bundle a ton of crapware). If I get the G2, will I be able to only disable the bloatware or uninstall too? Why do OEMs and carriers insist on making these hard to remove?

That's the reason I run root, carriers insist on disabling ability to completely uninstall their apps out of the box. :( Another benefit of root is being able to use apps like XPrivacy, Greenify, Xposed framework, and AFWall+ - among others - but just being able to remove AT&T bloatware makes it worth the minor effort of rooting.
