LG 10X Blu-ray Burner $110 @ Newegg

This was $140 last week and has been on sale as low as $117 but it is now at the low regular price of $110 with free shipping and includes a free BD-R if ordered by July 31st.

head to newegg.com if you want one.

I love Newegg. I bought this drive last week for $139 and chatted with their on-line reps and they gave me a refund for the price difference.

Was that your first ever price fix? When they did mine for a MB a few weeks ago, email said it was a one time thing. 😕

Does it actually come with decent software to play Blu Ray movies, or do you have to purchase software in addition?

"Free 3D software, glasses and BD media"

...I must assume 3d glasses.
Does anyone know or see what sort of glasses it's talking about?

If you add it to your cart it automatically adds the software and glasses. Power DVD 9 3D version and some $4.99 glasses with one red and one blue lens.

it comes with power dvd 9, and the current version seems to be power dvd 10 mk2, anyone know if it upgrades free or what the difference is?

How does this compare to the iHBS112 that's also offered by NE, for $30 more?

I'm also wondering about the 3-d combo. How are the glasses? My experience has been that polarized are better - the glasses in the photo are not.

I was going to order sounds good but I read that all LG's now have copylock enabled on them.
This slows drive read speed to 1x if it detects a movie or other drm media.

Can anyone verify this before I order?

It's my understanding that every drive has to have this (all my DVD drives do). Often there are custom firmwares to get around it, but I've never bothered.

Real tempting at $99 ... just to get up-to-speed on Blu-Ray "processes".

Edit: gave in, got one
