LFE vs L/R Input on a powered subwoofer

I think I broke the LFE input on the sub by backing up the sub too much to the wall. The single RCA cable was bent and now LFE goes inside the sub a little bit. No more bass :(

My sub also has L/R inputs. Can I use those in a 5.1 digital setup? If so how?

My receiver is a Pioneer VSX-821.

Thanks in advance!

Get your screw driver out, open the sub and have a look at the LFE connection. It's probably an easy fix.

If not use the L or R input.

I would try one of the line level inputs. On my old sub all it had was a pair of line level inputs and that's where the sub out cable went. You can get a splitter to connect to both inputs but it's not needed. Doing so only raises the input level which sometimes helps with the out on function.

Try it and see how it works. You have nothing to lose.

Plus, I bet all three jacks go into the same circuit on the amp.

My sub has no LFE jack. I have a cable from LFE-output to the L-input. Works fine.

Thanks guys I tried using and L/R inputs and still no sound. So the problem is worse. I just went out and bought a new sub.
