seems like the V8 fits pretty well.

B/C V8 says luxury which is what Lexus is all about. TT's are for more sporty vehicles.

Isnt it supposed to be a sporty (or sportier bc you cant really call it sporty at its weight) car?

IS300 isn't that heavy even with the V8 i think it should be comparable to it's cars in it's class.

But there is an already existing 6speed for the TTv6 that fits in the car

Actually transplanting the 6 speed takes some work :(
it's not a drop and roll type of install.

Wouldnt it be more work trying to fit a v8 and a new transmission?

i thought it was an I6?
chances are if an IS430 makes it to production it'll be the next generation, and who is to say that the TT version will fit in there? they might just go with their V6 for the base power plant and the V8 for the upgraded mill.

My bad, it is an I6.

Toyota is phasing out the I6. It's getting hard and harder for it to pass newer emissions. It IS an old engine (but cuffing fantastic).

The I6 also takes up more space whereas the V8 takes up a little more space vertically.

BMW seems to be doing fine with its I6 though. They are enlarging the 3.0 out to 3.5 liters for the '06 3-Series
