Morning All,

We have a Lexmark Optra-S 1620 that has become a money pit. What would a good replacement for this type of printer be. It does not have to be a Lexmark.

Thanks

Does it need to be a laser? Is your goal highest quality output or lowest cost per page over the long haul? Do you need color, or is b/w sufficient?

Supposing your budget is around $100,how about HP laserjet 1012 or Samsung L 1740, you could find the $30 mail in rebate on samsung in some place.

What about the rest of my earlier question? Also what type of connection will it need to have to work with the AS400 - network, parallel, USB? How many pages per month approx.

I would have Xerox, Samsung and Kyocera on my short list of brands to check out. Without detailed info, it is too hard to suggest a specific model.

If you can get in on the Canon Mp390. Cartridges can be found for under $2 a piece and prints ~150 pages per cartridge.. maybe more. Very cost efficient.

I love mine, and $25 of cartridges will last near 2-3years instead of 3 months :)
