Hey guys. Let me first say I've never organized anything like this before, so please excuse any mistakes I make along the way. I am still finding out info, and will inform you guys when I know it.
There is a new lan cafe opening in Lexington, KY on Harrodsburg Rd in the Turfland Mall called Dink's Cafe. Looks like it will be a very nice place to game, and I'd like to arrange a meeting there for November 6th for AT'ers to get our game on.
I'm letting this thread serve as the info center and also as the interest checker for those who may want to come. I will post all updates to prices, info, and people attending in this top post. Now, on with the info I know so far:
Pricing:
The cost to come to this place to game on their lan is still up in the air. It seems as pricing will be around $3-$4 an hour. This is with using their comps they have there, and I'm trying to find out about any extra fees that may be involved. All-in-all, it doesn't look like we'd break $20 if we played 5 hours, possibly even less if you want to bring in your own rig.
Bringing your own computer:
It looks like this place will let you bring your own comp, including monitor if you so choose. I am finding out the details on this, including the affect on pricing.
Specs of their systems:
Aopen AK86-L SystemBoards
AMD64 754 2800+
Nvidia Geforce 6800GT
Corsair 2x 512 pc3200
19in Viewsonic g90fb monitor
Logitech mx300 mouse on ratpadz
Games they currently have scheduled to offer: (will be installed and ready to play on LAN or online)
Star Wars: Jedi Knight:Jedi Academy
Star Wars: BattleFront
Tribes Vengeance
Rise Of Nations
Rise Of Nations: Thrones & Patriots
Age Of Mythology
Call Of Duty
Call Of Duty: United Offensive
Midnight Club II
Splinter Cell: Pandora Tommorrow
Command & Conquer Generals
Command & Conquer Generals: Zero Hour
Unreal Tournament
Unreal Tournament 2004
Far Cry
Quake 3
Battle Field 1942
Desert Combat Final
Desert Combat Mini Mod
Battle Field Vietnam
Point Of Existence
Counter Strike 1.6
Counter Strike Source
(Coming Soon) Half Life 2
ALL Steam Games
Diablo 2
WarCraft 3
(Coming Soon) World of WarCraft
Console gaming:
For those who may want to game on consoles, they will have 2 61" HDTV's setup in the back, with all the current consoles hooked up. Not sure on what games will be offered, but you should be able to bring in your own.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As far as food accomodations are concerned, this place has an expresso bar, with variable options for snacks and candy. There are a couple of restaurants nearby, a Cici's Pizza and a Chick Fil A that I know of right off the top of my head.
I am looking at a start time of around 6pm or so in the evening, but this is subject to change when I get a feel for who (if anyone) wants to show up. As far as how long we will game, it will depend on each invidividual, but I have all night.
Place stays open till 1am at this time, but this could also change if anyone is planning on staying longer.
Thanks, and keep an eye on this thread for any updates I have!
