Lexar USB CF reader

Hi!

I'm wondering if one maker's USB CF readers are interchangeable with other CF cards. I have a Lexar media USB CF reader which came with the CF card and I'm wondering if another manufacturer's CF card (i.e. Mr. Flash USA) can be accessed via the CF reader.

Mr. Flash CF cards are quite cheaper compared to Lexar CF cards and although the Mr. Flash cards have their own readers, do I really need to buy their USB CF reader to read their card? I don't really want to spend for another CF card.

I plan to use the CF card on my new Hand Era 330 handheld.

Thanks!

Actually I am not sure if it will work. I have the same thing that you have its the one that came free with the card right? Well if that is it, it is only for USB enabled memory cards. I tried using the 4mb one that came with my digital camera and it would not work in there. So basically it would be hit and miss I would bet. I would tend to say that it wouldnt work though, unless Mr. Flash says that it is USB enabled.

It gets better! I have the Lexar combo CF and SM reader (2 slots). The CF slot will also read the new IBM Microdrive (340 MB to 1 GB) and now those can be used in most CF-based digital cameras. Imagine 1 GB worth of digital images. That's a lot of pictures! 🙂

The new Handera will also read the Microdrives.
