So I buy jeans every couple years, and I buy many pairs at a time, usually 8 or 10 pairs.

So I'm not shopping the big retailers, and I'm seeing that I'm now exclusively a "Big and Tall" size (38x36) and without fail so far, if a retailer has my size at all, they're not 'on sale' when the normal sizes are.

So I'm looking at $55 a pair for levis. I don't think I've ever paid more than $30 or so per pair.

Have you checked at Costco? They sell Levi's for about $20. Not sure on the sizes though.

JCPenney has several styles of Levi's jeans in your size for $38.99 here.

Arizona jeans (both my husband and son have worn these and liked them) has their original fit jeans in your size for $24.50 here.

Gap jeans (what my husband mostly wears now) in your size are available for $30-$35 here.

Wha? Where? I never, ever find my sizes left over from sales - pants or otherwise. They're hard enough to find to begin with, so the quantities are usually limited going into a sale.

I started to do some looking for you but then realized I was shopping online for clothes for an old man whom i've never met and got creeped out.

I just looked at costco.com and they don't have them online. I have bought three pairs of Levi's from them in store though. They were like 17.99 or something. So they just might not offer them online...or it may vary by store?

They also carried Lucky Brand as well in the store...and they don't show online. :shrug;

38-36 is probably 50% more material than 32-32, more stitching, etc.

Companies have long kept prices constant between sizes, but this reflects a sense of perceived fairness, not anything real.

You're free to find other jeans that you like.

Actually, I'd have thought it would be linked to making sales simpler for the retailer, before everything was totally computerized. Now it's just legacy pricing.

i should have said "your demographic" i.e. $20-30 plain jeans. I am just stating a fact, not judging.

The only denims I wear anymore are from Land's End. MUCH more comfortable than Levis or Wranglers, (IMO) better built, and available in a HUGE range of sizes and for Big & Tall, they have "traditional fit and relxed fit"

38x36 is easier to find than 32x36. I usually go to gap or american eagle, but you have to order online because they don't carry 36 inseam in stores and that usually rules out the chance of getting them on sale.

id like another pair of their silvertabs, but i didnt find any on sale last time i went shopping *shrug* i always liked those.

Whatever works for ya. My jeans rarely lasted more than a couple of months, so paying $13.99 for the Kirkland brand made sense...I could have worn Carhartt coveralls over my work clothes, but those are hella fucking expensive too, and on warm days, they're just too much.

I havent seen jean leg that tapered since the last time I was RickRolled.


Check Kohls for Levis, they alsmost always have a sale, plus the 15-30% off coupons they send if you have a Kohls card.

Which Levis number (501, 505 etc,) do you wear? Some go on sale much more than others.
