Lettuce: Leafy or shredded?

As the topic says.

I've been eating a lot of salads lately. McDonalds' salads are leafy, whereas Subway's salads have shredded lettuce, which is what they also put on their subs.

If you like leafy in some stuff and shredded in others, just post rather than voting.

I personally hate leafy, and prefer only shredded... which can be a pain in the ass when I want to fix something myself and feel too lazy to shred it. 😛

(10:02:36 PM) Me: rarely eat burgers, and subs only come shredded
(10:02:43 PM) Me: so i have no choice really

If the "shredded" means "Iceburg" or other type of head lettuce, Leafy for everything and anything. Head Lettuce is not worth the time/energy to chew.

Shredded/pulled mainly because I don't eat out much and the lettuce I buy is iceberg, so I pull it off.
Tip: if you cut lettuce off the head , it will turn brown where you cut it. If you pull it off it takes much longer to turn.

Another tip for keeping a head of lettuce in good shape for a long time. Wrap the head in a paper towel and put it in a ziplock bag, it last a few weeks like that easily.
