You morons ever stop to think it might be someone who could care less about politics?

I thought it might be apolitical as well, but we do have one quote from the letter sent to both:

to see a wrong and not expose it, is to become a silent partner to its continuance

That sounds vaguely political to me but there is no way to tell what issues or ideology are motivating him without more from the letters.

Another interesting point is that the racin might not have been at lethal levels. Could have been residue of ground up castor beans, put there either by accident, or intentionally to create a scare but with no intent to kill.

LOL update ricin suspect was a Christian LEFTWingnut. Lack of prayer in schools made him do it. The Christians' war on America must be stopped!

First post after 7+ years of having an AT account. I always wondered what my first post would be about. I chose to use it to correct you. Congrats on compelling me to finally post!

Worship a bronze-age zombie myth and a modern welfare state myth.

You sir, have a wonderful imagination!

Glad I could be your inspiration. Please keep in mind that at no point did I accuse him of being a rightwingnut.

Be honest, how stupid do you feel right now?
Not sure why you think I should feel stupid. All I did was post a story I found. He is indeed a Christian Wingnut who thinks lack of prayer in schools is the source of our problems today. If it turns out that he was framed for the ricin letters well then good for him.

Now with all that out of the way, let's ask ourselves, if it turns out that this guy was framed, who would be compelled to frame a Democrat while sending the letters to a "soft" Republican and the Kenyan Muslim?

He didn't do it?

OXFORD, Miss. -- A federal official says the man charged with sending poison letters to President Barack Obama, a U.S. senator and a Mississippi judge has been released from jail.

Jeff Woodfin, chief deputy with the U.S. Marshals Service in Oxford, Miss., says Paul Kevin Curtis has been released from custody.

Woodfin says he doesn't know if there were any conditions on the release.

The development comes hours after officials canceled a detention and preliminary hearing on Tuesday.

Curtis was arrested Wednesday at his house in Corinth, Miss., and charged with sending ricin-laced letters to Obama, Sen. Roger Wicker and a Lee County, Miss., judge.

Through an attorney, the 45-year-old Curtis has said he is innocent.

Little to no forensic evidence so I'm very curious how they had any suspect, especially this one, to begin with.

Probably why the guy has been released.

Probably why the guy has been released.

In a statement last week, his family said they had not been shown any evidence of the charges against him, but added that Curtis suffers from a long history of mental illness.

Typewritten on yellow paper, the three letters contained the same eight-line message, according to an affidavit from the FBI and the Secret Service filed in court.

"Maybe I have your attention now / Even if that means someone must die," the letters read in part, according to the affidavit. The letters ended: "I am KC and I approve this message."

The initials "KC" led law enforcement officials to ask Wicker's staff if they were aware of any constituents with those initials, and the focus of the investigation then turned to Curtis, the affidavit said.

Probably one of those guys who sends lots of strange/rambling letters to his congressman. Or maybe he just deals with one of Wicker's caseworkers a lot about mental health services.
