The whole movie was basically one big Die Antwoord music video. I gather the idea was that they were playing themselves (since the characters were called Ninja and Yolandi) and that their music career had not worked out and they had fallen into a life of crime. It was funny how every scene seemed to include some combination of their music, the same clothing and car from their music videos, and/or their logo (even featured on their body armor when they went to do the big heist toward the end).

nah.

Old fogie not impressed. Chappie wasn't horrible, watched that around the time it came out.

It seems the more anti-pop someone tries to get, the more pop they become.

particularly related to their vids.

I still dig their musical creativity tho and their different vibe from south africa.
