Ever had a vindaloo or madras so good that you thought you were in heaven? Except that the next day your gaseous emissions were so toxic that you could almost see the paint peel off the walls and hear the escaping train of roaches, ants, spiders and house centipedes leaving the house, carrying all their belongings in little carts. Only the silverfish would remain behind. You'd think it's because they're that badass but, in reality, it's because they are just that dumb. :p

*Red Dwarf*

Beware the Great Vindaloo Monster however! Unless there's plenty of lager nearby (lager being the only thing that can kill a vindaloo).

I've always been a slave to a good lamb curry of any type.

I have a pretty good stomach for hot food and don't mind eating really spicy curries (and I mean spicy as the Indians would measure it not as westerners would).

PS: dennil do you work graveyard? Just curious because I often see you post really early in the morning Toronto time. Or really late depending on how you count the hours ;)

As a general rule, as long as it's not a "curry" where they really mean disgusting "curry powder" mixed into an otherwise bland dish, I like it. I for one would be content if "curry powder" were banished from Earth for the remainder of human history. It's like the idiot chef's version of garam masala.

true, anyone that uses curry powder is a noob. even garam masala is a shortcut since its just a blend of the main spices. real indian food uses actual spices in different proportions.

Right. I'm willing to forgive the use of garam masala though, because at least it's not curry powder...

What's wrong with garam masala and curry power? We use both together to make curry chicken. I curious as to how "real" indians make homemade curry.

From my experience with my Indian friends...and the Indian restaurants I've been to with one of them... they can't handle spicy like I like spicy....

Coconut curry noodle bowl with chicken is awesome. Yes, that is Thai curry.

I like Indian curry, too, but can't describe any dishes. Mmm.

I'm not a big fan of Indian food.
Love me some good thai red, green, or panang curry though.
