I have recently discovered The Format and picked up their cd today. A nice 9.99 price sticker (which I believe if more cds were priced at that point much more cds would be sold). Anyway, they have an awesome acoustic/rock feel to them. The whole cd is great andI can just sit and chill and listen to the whoole thing. I suggest you check them out...the best track IMO is "on your porch" so check it out.

Just discovered Ben Kweller, who was, funnily enough, performing on some PBS special. He's kind of a mix of Weezer and Ben Folds.

I saw ben kweller on his first US tour, before he was even known. I thought he was a roadie :)

Anyway, yeah, he rocks. He had an acoustic-folk cover of Ice Ice Baby that was just awesome. Hes so talented on every instrument, its crazy.

I discovered Life of Agony in february

they'd been around for about 10 years - i feel like a fool for not knowing about them
they quickly ascended to the top of my playlist

Ok, I started listening to a lot of bands before they were famous. It doesn't affirm me any special rights and I wonder why people always think they deserve respect or something because they knew a band before they were big. No offense but this just drives me crazy.

wow, that's impressive. honestly though, how does that no-talent trash have a career off of using the same exact beat in every song he "produces" but with a different sound effect that repeats over and over? it's awful. oh i forgot, he screams "yeah" and "okay"

Cat Power! Some of the best song writing I've heard recently is one her You Are Free album.
&
The Walkmen. I can't believe I haven't been listening to this band. Very very good stuff.

Gamma Ray, Helloween, Dragonforce.
1 Gamma Ray going to see live in September.
Helloween haven't seen yet.
Dragonforce are a UK band so I'm hoping they'll do another round soon I can go see.
