I used to stick up for the market...now I think it can DIAF. Trying to find something useful on there is beyond a pain. Unless you know exactly what you are looking for (name of app, Dev name), its next to impossible.

Google needs to either cut out the crap or give more search options than just title.

Google said they were going to majorly change the market in the future possibly with Gingerbread. I don't find the Apple App store to be any better for finding good apps either.

Gameloft not using the market won't have any effect on the market's success at all, it's completely insignificant. They will eventually use it though, it's inevitable. A tiny company like Gameloft won't stay away from the huge amount of money the market would bring them.

i agree with this. they wont sell games to the masses without it. only us nerdy people that read forums like this and droid forums even know about the site. the average user just goes to the market

I've never used the Apple App store, so I can't comment on that.

Most of the new apps I've downloaded I found on XDA. I still buy them, only directly from the Dev.

Trust me it's not any better. In fact I found it harder to use since it seemed to have even more crap app you have to sort through.

pretty simple. install the web installer ap

go to appbrain.com
log in (same accnt you log into on phone ap with)

under your Info/details it should list your phone/phones you have tied to the on phone app. Mine lists 2. One of them is from before i rooted, the other is the same phone just rooted, IDK why they show up differently. However you can set the correct one as default

brows for an app,
click install app - app should then be DLed and installed on your phone without any syncing - happens near instantly for me on WIFI

if you are trying and nothing ever installs to your phone it might be because you have more then 1 phone listed and its applying the DL/install to the wrong one, took me like 10 min to figure that out the first time i used it

oh noes

what did you do? borked rom install?

ill check when i get home and see if i have a 3rd phone listed as im on a diff rom now

the first time I partitioned the internal sd instead of my external.

This time I got impatient waiting for Odin to flash and I unplugged it in the middle of it doing its thing. I can't get into the download mode now, so I'm going to try one more time tonite after work. If not, its back to Tmo to get a new one.
