But you couldn't pay me to wear dreds, nor, if I were an employer, would I hire anyone who wore them...(If you were already working for me and did that, I'd find a reason to fire you.)

I don't know what you're trying to gain with them, but they will end up costing you plenty in the long run...respect, jobs, girlfriends, any sense of respectability.

Make sure you keep your head clean. Anytime your hair is dreaded or braided after a while it starts to really smell.
 
That really does not look good. Maybe I don't look good either, but I somewhat doubt that's the case (😉). In any case, I'd get a buzz cut, and keep it short. You don't look...professional. Maybe it looks good if you want to look like you like 12 year old girls (or boys :Q) but it just doesn't look like anyone would have a right to look at you and say "There is a male who is going to get somewhere."

If you want to look like a deadweight, then that's fine, keep the look, nothing I can say will change your mind if you're set on it.

I'd somehow straighten all that out, then get a buzz # 3, and then think about my hair style for a month, before re-styling it around something more natural to your hair style.
 
I like my longer hair when I listen to a really good song, and I start nodding my head, like I'm saying 'yeeess' to every beat. Yes, yes, yes, this rocks. And then sometimes I switch it up like, No, no, no! Don't stop a-rockin'!

My hair gets wide too.. sometimes I think it looks great out just after waking up or showering.. but I'm afraid to go to work with it like that.. so I keep it looking the same it has been for 10+ years now. My sister says I need something new though.. and is making me go to some stylist of her this weekend. 😱
 
Originally, I had the stereotypical Indian buzzcut. Then, I decided togrow it out a bit, yielding an emo/scene style. I regret those days greatly. All I was doing was jumping on a bandwagon. I grew it out further and further until it became hippy-ish. Then, I trimmed it a bit. Not liking this new caveman look, I got a big haircut, leaving some room for a bit of style. That grew out into this jazzy look. After having enough, I finally cut it all off. Since then, it has mostly grown into this, just a tiny bit longer.
