Well, I saw a UFO years ago and, thank goodness, I wasn't the only one. A lot of "respectable" people saw this including some of the local cops. The usual weather balloons and/or ultra-lights were discounted as the likely causes.

Believe me, I did not "like" being scared when I saw it. It was at dusk in the summer, around 8:15 PM. I was by myself and driving home from a summer class, and I pulled over when I realized it was the real thing. I actually talked out loud to myself, i.e., "There's got to be a rational explanation for this." It was officially designated as a UFO.

As it has already been discussed, why does none of this occur during the day in well-lit areas with many alert and fully awake people around? Are the spooks afraind of being "discovered" LOL!

Some of the people in your stories may even be able to claim 1 Million Dollars! for conclusive proof of these events (I won't hold my breath).

For some more rational examination of these stories, visit some of the Forums at The James Randi Educational Foundation

Chill out man. We are just posting strange experiences we have had. We are not saying ghosts are out there and are coming to get you. We are just simply sharing strange experiences we have had you. Don't thread crap kthx

No such thing. That's the point of having a thread like this.
OK, there is such a thing, but nobody cares if they don't believe it :)

the only thing I really can say is that I have deja vu so freaking often.

I remember watching unsolved mysteries or something and there was a program saying how people dream the future..and sometimes I swear it could be true b/c the way it happens for me..i mean the deja vu can last for a couple min and include fairly complicated conversation..but even when i realize I"m having deja vu and i try to change it/say something different but that's all part of the deja vu as well it's like I've dreamed out sequences of my life that couldn't have happened before and when they do happen I realize it instantly that i just have this feeling throughout my body that I know exactly what's going on/going to happen. hard to describe

it'll be random things to..like talking on instant messenger or just walking into a room..but there will always be something that is new/different that couldn't have happened before yet it's felt like it's the exact same, usually i'll recognize like positions of objects/specific lighting.

It's really weird :/

also when I was really young like 4-5ish where my dad was sleeping with me b/c I had trouble falling asleep, well I swear I was up but there was like an invisible shield all along my bed, like I actually hit against it and pushed but I couldn't get out anywhere, as this is happening though I see my dad floating out of my room with like a golden aura around him, he's in a sleeping position almost like how you'd see someone in a casket/mummified and he's floating away and the aura or whatever actually turns him so he can get out the door and while I can't see it I can sense that he went to the family room. just a funky dream that I remember : P

sharks can detect distortions in the eletromagnetic field, made easier by the water. kindof a sixth sense of things around them that they can't see
So can humans. There are three big antennae (some that I don't notice, though I can see them) from here to the doc I go to in Atlanta. Also some MAJOR power lines going by two schools I went to, and my health severely declined while attending them, and has been getting better since. Cell phones suck, too.

Another explanation here

Unless, of course you would rather choose to believe that Parker Brothers has found a way to mass-produce devices that can open portals to "the afterlife"
Nobody said it has to be a ouija board. If there were stories of such things involving a pendulum with a ring of letters around it, you could get the same effect, or pretty much anything where a single person is not 100% in control of what they are doing.
The belief, or at least potential for that belief, has as much to do with it as any actual occurences.
One of the wonderful things that some people (like you, apparently) don't seem to get is that the explanation (ideomotor effect, FI) neither proves nor disproves anything. Interesting how they explain things on some of the pages linked there, and ignore that explanation when talking about them...OTOH, I didn't know there was so much medical quackery out there. 69.5GHz--WTF?

Parker Brothers mass produces some plastic and paper in a box--unless you believe guns kill people. In that case, then yes, they mass produce a device to communicate with spirits.

Close friends of mine had ghostly experience. Two friends of mine dated, the girl lives a few blocks away from my house. So one day my friend (her boryfriend) was driving to her house and he calls her to see if she's home. A girl picked up the phone, whom he had conjectured was his girlfriend's friend, and told him that she'll be home in 10 minutes. Sure enough, his girlfriend calls him back 10 minutes later. When he asked her who had picked up the phone, she said no one was home and that she just got back and called him.
Also when they would go to sleep they would wake up with stuff being moved around the rooom. LIke, he would put the watch on the counter, yet when he woudl wake up it would be on the other side of the room.
Another weird thing that happened when he was alone at her house and she was at work. He was sitting watching TV when all of a sudden a tennis ball flew across the room and knocked down a picture frame... he ran out of the house and waited for his gf to get off work.
I've been to her house plenty of times, but personally have not witnessed anything.

As for myself, I have had slightly weird experiences, but it's not ghostly more like extra sensory perception....

This happened several times; I would be thinking of a song, a really random song in my head and all of a sudden my sister would start singing it.

I was driving down to my university in Maryland (I live in Jersey) and all of a sudden I would think of how my Dad hasn't called me yet, 3 seconds later the phone rang, it was my dad. I also told other people to pick up their phone, they'd check if it was ringing and it wasn't... a few seconds later the phone would ring.

I experiecne deja vu pretty often. A few weeks ago, I was on an easy run woth my track teammates, and a few kids were discussing this one school's track. All of a sudden I realized I remembered the conversation, and I mentioned this to a friend. Then, one kid asked a question, and I said, "Now <this other kid> is going to say <so-and-so>." And sure enough, he said what I knew he was going to say... That freaked me out a bit.

Also, in the same vein as Xenon14, my friend and I will often start singing a song at the same time, or say the same thing at the same time. Uncannily on the same line, at the exact same time, sometimes being a song we haven't heard for a long time. Also, I used to be pretty adept at singing a song, then turning on the radio to hear that song playing.

Pretty much the only other "supernatural" thing that has happened to me, was when I was younger, maybe 10 or 12 years old, I can remember waking up one night and seeing a glowing orb floating in my room. I first thought it was ball lightning, but now I'm not so sure. It was just hovering in my room, and floated around a bit. I remember it seemed to be attracted to the electrical socket as it floated over there a lot. It lasted for about 3 or 4 minutes then winked out.

When I was in 6th grade my mother remarried and my two younger brothers and myself moved to Wyoming to live with our new "step-dad", Henry. Henry didn't really want us there and my brothers and I could pick up right away that he was just putting up with us because we came with my Mom, but move in we did and our lives changed quite abit.

Henry had an 18 year old daughter who had a room upstairs, and a sixteen year old son that we were told ran away to South Dakota. I was given Henry's son Billy's old room down in the basement as my room. The room was exactly as his son had left it before running away, even with some homework sitting on a desk and his belongings still where he had left them. My 9 year old brother got a storage room turned to a bedroom, across the hall from me and life began anew at our new home.

The first thing we as kids did was look through everything in Billy's room, he had some cool things to us as we were young and he had been sixteen when he ran away. We found some hunting knives, one of those electric football tables, and some other cool things, but we soon also found out that this kid was a freaking perv as well. I pulled out my bed to see what was behind it and Henry's son Billy had made a hole in the back of the headboard (it was just thin cardboard material) and I could see something was inside. I pulled out a carboard cutout the shape of a person, I was thinking they were targets or something but as soon as I flipped it over I realized I had found Henry's son's cardboard cutout porn collection.

He had cut out centerfolds from magazines in all their different positions and carefully cut out cardboard backing to match. He had dozens of these things that had little stands so they could be propped up. Again I was in 6th grade and this was the freakiest thing I had ever seen. I was too scared to tell my Mom or Henry what I had found for fear of getting in trouble so I stuffed them back in the bed headboard and stopped nosing around because I was afraid of what I would find next.

Well I didn't have to look for it because it found me, my brother and I were making room in a closet for some of our stuff and found a box which we opened. We looked in the box then looked at one another wondering why a boy would have a box full of naked dolls. There were all kinds of freaking dolls in this box, several different Barbies, many different baby dolls, and not one of them had a stitch of clothes on. We carefully put the box back and didn't really talk about what we had found.

We were very uneasy in our new surroundings and I had a hard time falling asleep at night in Billy's room. My nine year old brother would wait until everyone was asleep then come into my room to sleep because he was scared. I would act annoyed at him for sleeping in my room but in reality I was very relieved to see him come into my room because I was scared sh*tless in my new surroundings.

One night my brother had a dream. He woke up screaming his head off which in turn scared the crap out of me. I said "what's wrong!?!" and my Brother said to turn on the light! I ran over and flipped on the switch and saw my brother was covered in blood. I started screaming and he started screaming louder. I later found out that my brother was having a dream and in this dream Billy was back, and I guess Billy was a little pissed because he was taking an axe to me as I slept. My brother said that Billy was standing over my bed chopping me up and he was watching it happen and blood was flying everywhere. That's when he woke up screaming with blood all over him.

I was really freaked out as my brother was screaming and talking about someone with an axe with blood all over his blankets and face when we realized he had, had a bloody nose in his sleep. After my brother stopped crying, we cleaned up the blood as best we could and we went and slept in his room for the rest of the night.

Weird things happened here and there, I can't ever say I saw anything but I was always scared to be in that house and especially that friggin porno-room-of-horror with the dolls just waiting to jump out of the box and get me but I did have something happen to me which scared the beejezus out of me at the time.

I was playing by a storage room in the basement, and I was the only one home at the time, my brother and mom had went shopping and everyone else was out doing something or other. Anyway I loved playing with army men and had set these army men up all over the steps by the storage room door that led up to the garage. This storage room door was a big heavy metal door with weatherstripping at the bottom of it to keep the cold air out. I had to push hard on this door to get it open or shut. It had been open for quite awhile and I was having a great battle by the door.

My army men had just captured the enemy's leader and I was interogating him. My back was to the door and I was on the garage side of the door when I the door slammed shut fast and hard. I froze. My mind had a little conversation that lasted for a split second "my brother is screwing around...no I'm home alone, well then air suction from another door opening must have caused this one to shut...um your home alone nobody is here to open any other doors, well then the door must have shut by itself but lots of doors can do that...umm this door weighs a freaking ton and you have to push on it with quite a bit of force to open it" Then both sides of my brain finally agreed on something, "RUN!".

I ran as fast as I could out of the house and didn't go back in until my Mom got home, I never did tell here what happened, just my brother and we both agreed that this house was evil.

I don't remember the exact conversation with my Mom and Henry, or how it came up but I remember talking about Billy and wondering where he had runaway to. That's when Henry decided to tell us the truth about Billy. "Billy didn't run away, he killed himself". I could just mutter a "how?" Henry let us in on the fact that Billy had hung himself in the barn with some wire. Well isn't that just great, I'm sleeping in a dead kids bed with his army of nude killer dolls at his disposal. It was then I started sneaking into my brothers room to sleep. I hardily ever slept in Billy's room again and luckily my Mom and Henry split up within a year of us moving into his house and we soon moved back to Kansas.

I can't say there was anything in the house besides some active imaginations, but I can say that we were genuinely scared to be in that house and especially Billy's room.

These are a bunch of things that happened when i was a kid back in England.

1.) I had this friend from school that was kind of rejected by everyone else. He had birth marks all over his body, and one of his eyes looked like a shattered glass eye (it was really weird, never seen anyone with something like that since). I remember that he would always get in fights with people, he would never take any siht from anyone, even if they were much bigger than him. I remember seeing him get knocked down a couple of times, and he would jump up so quickly, and get right back in that person's face. Anyway, so he was over at my house one weekend and he started to tell me these stories about himself. Now that I think about it, they were really kind of morbid and disturbed, especially for a 11-12 yr old. He was telling me that everywhere he went , when he would turn around suddenly he would see something and that as he turned around it would try and hide. Always in a black cloak, sort of like Death. It wasn't there to hurt him, he told me, it was there to protect him. And he said, it's not just the same one, sometimes there are more. He told me that i should never repeat this to anyone.

So clever young me thinks, wow, now i understand why these people avoid and make fun of him. This was the last Sunday at the end of the summer vacation, and I'm thinking, i got to let everyone know about this freak tomorrow at school.

That night after he leaves, I'm in bed and trying to fall asleep. My bedroom door is open looking out into the hallway where there's a light on. So, i don't know about you guys but after you look at a light for a long time and look away, i can still see the imagine, even with my eyes open. Anyway, along this hallway, i see what appears to be a large dark blob cross the door way. I'm just thinking to myself, i've been starring at this light for too long. Close my eyes look again, and don't see anything. All of a sudden, i see this blog appear from the direction that it had vanished and just stay there. So i try and focus elsewhere to see if it's the light again. Focus back to the door way, and it was still there. Try to do the same a couple of times and it's still there. I start to freak out. Cover myself with the blanket. Then all of a sudden I get this hot wave down my back, and then a really cold one, and then i start to shake so violently i just don't know what to do. Finally after lying there for about a minute i jump up with my eyes closed , run through that same door way and down stairs to the living room where my dad is watching TV. I run in there and tell him that i've just seen a ghost. I'm still shaking violently. He gives me the "sure son" look and i ask him i can sleep in his room. He says yes and put me in there to bed. I ask him to leave the light on and he says okay. i ask him when he's coming to bed and he says soon, closes the door and goes back to the living room. I'm under the sheets, and after a while i peek out . All of a sudden in front of me, the shape of a hand starts to appear and then points to the door. I just jumped up and ran out to my dad, not telling him what i saw,and just ask him when he's coming to bed. I start to shake violently again.

Needless to say, I never told anyone about that guy the next day.

I'll tell the other story later.

I discovered a few years later that my mom had hung a potted plant in the attic with fishing wire. the sound was just the fishing line rubbing up against the plant holder as it swung in the breeze. I felt really stupid :p

yup, most of this super natural stuff is easily explained

earlier this year my mom was on a trip overseas and i was housesitting for her. it was around 3-4am and I was watching tv and eating a pizza in her room. i noticed movement in the air like distortions in the light coming in and out of the door. i thought it was just me needing sleep so i got up and closed the door. 5 mins later something or someone punches the door with a good amount of force.

i sit there and think "house settling? no... door locking in place?...no...ok time to go!" and i leave my pizza and run out the door.

a few weeks ago my mom calls me at work during the afternoon and asks if i was just over because she was in her room and someone knocked on her door. when she got up and answered it no one was there.

the hallway that leads to my mom's room has always had ghostly going ons. such as disembodied footsteps and lights coming on and off on their own. when we first moved in we noticed animal paw prints in the dust on the ceiling of the hallway.

please keep in mind that we are all formally educated adults that can differentiate between abnormal and normal sounds and occurrences.

All these "seeing ghosts" stories... you "see" weird things after you just wake up (and your mind probably hasn't caught up)...

I'll believe in the supernatural when someone starts speaking in a language they never knew...

at my grandparents house...

everyone in the family has a story it seems

i never saw anything personally, but i would get an uneasy feeling upstairs, I still do.
it just feels as if im not alone. everytime i turn to go the stairs i have looked over my shoulder down the hall. its just a very unnerving feeling.

my aunt has seen an orb of light coming down the hall one night.

my great grandmother saw something hovering over that same aunt's crib when she was a baby, she claimed it was a woman that looked like a nurse, it would make some sense b/c the house was a sanatarium at one point.

pool balls on the pool table in the basement have moved by themselves according to my dad.

my grandmother put a vacuum at the top of the stairs and went downstairs and heard a loud noise and the vacuum was at the bottom of the stairs, as if it were pushed.

ive heard footsteps upstairs when its just myself and my grandparents downstairs.

i was taking a bath upstairs and the lights in the bathroom (only) went out, i freaked the hell out and took off running butt naked downstairs.

I absoultely hate going up there by myself and at night. forget it. no way im going up there.
