I was alone one night when I was like 14. I was in the bathroom. Got out of the shower. The radio went staticy and then the a voice came out of it and clearly enunciated "You are dead". . .
I left the house in my underwear and housecoat. . . quickly.

If that were me I would have been dead. From a fvcking heart attack... That's messed up

What is spooky is my mom still lives there. My son was like 2 before we could get him back to visit grandma. He was all happy and running around. He walked by the bathroom and suddenly screamed in a bloody terror. He would not use the potty there anymore. He would clutch me HARD if I held him and walked down that hall near the rest room.

Fast forward 3 years.

My daughter did the EXACT same thing . . .

Have you attempted to investigate it? Not that I have steel nuts or something, but I would rather know what really happened instead of letting it bug me for the rest of my life.

yea do you know what they saw or heard?

They say kids are more 'pyschic' than grownups as they still run off of instinct till about 4 rather than on taught behaviour. If there is a presence, they are more apt to sense it.

My mother's dog also actively avoids that area of the house (a full grown dobie). . .

I do know I was always nervous in that house as a kid myself. I have not had a nightmare since I left home. I would not leave my room at night, as I had to pass that bathroom.

As a teen I 'outgrew' it, but I honestly still would flip on every light as I walked to the kitchen in the middle of the night, and I was still 'nervous'. . .

I had one when I was 4..
I had this really bad nightmare.. i trapped in my aunt's kitchen.. the floor was black and white checkerboard tiles, the door was nailed shut with boards. Then I suddenly woke up.. and across the room, I saw this pink figure floating up and down. It looked like a piece of skin. I stared at it for a good minute.. making sure I wasn't just seeing things... and it stayed there.. floating up and down. Now there's NO WAY I could see anything in that room at night, because it's pitch black in there at night. Well after staring at it for 2 minutes, and "confirming" that it was real, I burst into tears. That time I lived in a room with my mom and my sister, so they woke up... and flipped on the lights and everything was gone.
It looked damn real... but I don't believe in the supernatural today. I used to worry everyday, even had 3 nightlights.. and weird things would happen. For example, one night, I heard my chair creak really loud exactly like someone just sat on it. But one day I just told myself, no matter how hard I look, no ghost is gonna come out and get me.. so I got over it, and never worried again afterwards. Took me till I was about 11 to get over it.

i wonder if anyone has ever seen a ghost or some type of figure or image...and actually went after it. everyone seems to be too scared to do anything. what's to lose?

See my post above about where I work.

Also, when I was out camping on a river in arkansas, (remote camping on a canoe trip), I saw a large pair of eyes in the darkness, yelled at a buddy to grab the gun. My friend saw em too . .. We did chase into the darkness a little ways until we had one of those "we are doing what the ppl in the horror movies do when they get killed" moments . .

We got back and thought about it. Here we were in the middle of nowhere in the woods, and not even a cricket was chirping. We suddenly realized everything was just a little too surreal.

We went back up and packed up and canoed through till morning. . .

Eeshh, these are a few stories from my family or friends, all of whom i trust that they're not bullshitting me:

1) When i was about 4, my grandma, who lived with us, passed away. A few days after her passing, my mom found me crying in bed and couldn't get me to stop. After a good long while, I eventually stopped crying. She had asked me why i was crying, and i said that grandma was there holding me, and that she was there to say one final goodbye.

2) My ex was once sleeping in her room when she opened her eyes and saw a man on top of her. This wasn't a man that could have crawled through her window or anything, so something heebeejeebeeish was going on. Anyways, she couldn't move and was scared shitless. And to make it even weirder, i think it was a caucasion man, which would be somewhat of a rarity in our area.

She also had this blessed buddha in her room. She usually placed it on her drawers, which weren't really accessible by her unless she got up out of bed to move it. But, whenever she would wake up, the buddha would be on the floor.

3) I have a relatively large family, who live all around the world. Anyways, to sum up the story, whenever weird shyt would happen in a certain house, it would be tied down to "dirty spirits." For example, my aunt was sick for a very long time, and doctors could not diagnose the problem. It was deduced that the problem was spirits hasseling my aunt. My mom then went to a chinese temple and bought some afterlife "property" for the supposed spirits and prayed for those spirits. Everything then turned out alright! Most problems usually stem from spirits not having a place to life in the afterlife.

4) I have an uncle that had his third eye opened. When he was young he was a non-believer, so he visited the temple in Vietnam. He was then taught to open his third eye (through meditation), and ever since he has been able to see ghosts. Most recently he saw my uncle, grandpa, would-be-uncle (all of whom were deceased) at the side of my grandma's deathbed when she just passed away.

Some of this stuff does sound far-fetched, but if you can't trust your family, who the hell can you trust?

Can you talk more about the third eye thing? That is fascinating....

in one of our old houses, I used to hear this creeking noise every night when I tried to go to sleep. it got so bad that I'd have to wear headphones with music blasting to pretend that it wasn't there so I could get to sleep.

I discovered a few years later that my mom had hung a potted plant in the attic with fishing wire. the sound was just the fishing line rubbing up against the plant holder as it swung in the breeze. I felt really stupid :p

Well, he was a disbeliever, and ever since then he hasn't been able to go back to normal i suppose. I was told that he had to practice this specific chant to open the eye. Anyways, he's had a bunch of weird stories, but he keeps most of them to himself. I don't know how often he does see ghosts, but most of the stories i've heard revolve around seeing recently deceased people. For example, my cousins were having some sort of party in their backyard. This uncle then sees their nextdoor neighbor, this old lady, staring at them through the window. But suprise suprise, she died a while back too.

The whole ghost-seeing thing is very odd, it truly is a sixth sense. In cantonese, i think we call it "God bones." As you can see, it's not a translation :p

Definitely agree. My grandfather told me about a visit he made to some holy site in India. Apparently, you're supposed to bring an offering of fruits and what have you and pray to the gods for the safely of a loved one's soul. As night approaches, the journey becomes a bit more "intense" as jealous spirits who were not fortunate enough to have their living relatives perform the same task rip away the offerings, verbally abuse the visitors, and generally impede progress.

episodic, your posts are positively bone-chilling. I don't think I could leave the bed unless the boogeyman, wolfman, and dracula came and dragged me, kicking and too petrified to scream. Thought about investing in a proton pack? ;)

I believe the third eye is defined in this case as the ability to detect supernatural objects. Supposely, some people are more likely to have it than the others.

It's a bit of both. My uncle's an example of a "learned" sense, whereas my cousin is a natural. But, not having developed it, i don't think my cousin is able to see as much as my uncle.

These threads are always great/scary/interesting. Share a sixth sense story you have had or any ghost story you have had part int.

The only time I had anything happen was this

I was sleeping in my room in the basement. Across the basement there was a small bay window. All of a sudden I woke up laying on my back and I usually sleep on my side or stomach. As my eyes focused I saw a pair of glowing eyes staring right back at me. I sat there, petrified. I could not move or even yell for anyone in the house to help me. I sat locked in contact with this pair of floating glowing eyes. All of a sudden they moved. It was a damn black cat. I woke up simply because I felt the eyes watching me. I believe people have other untapped sense and that there are other things going on in this world. I do not know if I am a total ghost believer or not but I believe in something.

Share your stories no matter how lame you think they are.

When you're half asleep, it is easy for you mind to hallucinate or go into a dream state. Happens to me all the time when I wake up in the middle of night, I'd see this cloaked figure approach me from the hall and then envelope me as I'm petrified.

Somtimes the figure will show up accompanied by green smoke. Eerie isn't it?

ive had many of those dreams myself. i saw a show on the learning channel (or discovery, cant remember which now) about many people world wide having these dreams. they called it the entity. one guy even claimed it would beat his ass and rape him:shocked: of course, the couple of nights the camera was there, nothing happened.

i lived in an apartment over a workshop that i rented from an older couple that are good friends of mine. it was about 20 feet from their house. that was awesome, as i always got the left-overs and she was an awesome cook. one night, the gf stayed over. we fell asleep, everything was real nice. at some point, i started having one of those dreams. the ominous black figure was standing at the foot of my bed. i was scared silly, unable to move or speak. feels like you are nailed to the bed with your mouth gagged. as im struggling to wake up/move/talk, i hear a loud thud, and the sound of footsteps. at this point, the figure begins to move closer to me. i try with all my might to muster up the words "who are you", and all that i can do is squeeze out a faint breath. as the footsteps and the figure move closer, i hear a scream and my rabbit ear antennae go flying off of my t.v. towards me. at this point, im finally able to fling my self from the bed screaming "whoaaooaoaoa goddam motherfvcker etc." like a little girl. after about 5 seconds of craziness, the light comes on. it was my gf. she woke up craving a coke, and all i had was beer, so she had walked next door to get one. she bumped the rabbit ears off because i had them about 6 inches into the doorway.

i was honestly surprised that i didnt have a heart attack. my whole body was pounding so hard.

my mother and her siblings used to freak me out with bigfoot stories. they grew up in beckley, WV. he would come and peek into the outhouse placed by the woodline. he would often walk along parallel with them when they would walk thru the woods to school or neighbors house. they would see him in the woods watching them in the yard. i dont really believe in big foot, but out of the 7 of them, 6 saw it. of those 6, only one isnt convinced. living out in the country and woods like they did, they knew the diffence between a bear and the assorted wild cats and things. they arent stupid/ignorant people and i never thought they were lying. they dont know what it was, but they know what it wasnt.

freaky stuff.
