... what is the biggest HDTV you can buy? You cannot use any help in taking the HDTV home and setting it up. You have to do it all by yourself. Of course, you can have help (from the sales people) in putting it into your car but after that, you have to do everything yourself.

C'mon, who here would be able to handle a 32 inch HDTV? 37 inch HDTV? Is it possible to handle a 40 inch HDTV?

I doubt anyone can go with anything above 24". I've seen 32"s and even those are huge. On that note, guess which genius thought he could lug home 2 bookshelves and a receiver..... I made it one block, then called a taxi. Couldn't even make it to the bus stop.

You were able to remove a 50 inch DLP HDTV from your car/truck, carry it into your house and set it up all by yourself?

Why not? a handtruck(aka dolly) makes it easy to move a boxed up DLP HDTV.

The largest DLP made. DLPs are light and very easy to set up. Assuming your truck could fit it, 4 wheel dolly FTW.

The reason I'm asking is because I'm trying to get an idea of the biggest HDTV I can buy. I was leaning towards an LCD but now I'm wondering if a DLP is better. It has to fit in a Ford Focus Hatchback though....

Uhaul rents pickup trucks as well, you don't have to rent a moving truck. Spending $1500+, spend the $20 to move it correctly. Or just pay for delivery.

If you buy locally, Circuit City, BB, Magnolia etc. will deliver to you for around $50.

A 50" Samsung DLP weighs around 80 pounds.

I move my 32" Samsung CRT HDTV by myself (~200lbs), as well as my 30" Wega (~180lbs) with relative ease.

Did you also left it up to the TV stand by yourself? The world strongest men competition have a lift on atlas stone and it starts at a little over 200lb. Do you do any type of lifting in the gym or for work?

Lowes and Home Depot rent pick-ups by the hour. That being said, you don't even have 1 person you know that can help you out for like an hour? Even for say like lunch? If that's not possible I R SAD 4 U.

Have it delivered. If that's not an option find someone on the forum who lives near you, I'm sure someone would be happy to help. How about a neighbor?
