I was having a hard time deciding whether or not to buy a $550 set of Magnepan Planar speakers. In this time of economic slow down, I've decided to do my part in jumpstarting the economy ;). So, I've decided to pluck down $550 for a pair of these gems:

Magnepan MMG flat ribbon speakers

believe it or not pal, all technological advances in the past 100 years have been driven by materialism.

I never claimed otherwise. In my opinion the focus on things, on objects, should be shifted to the focus on people, animals, and love. Weird, Strange, and Unusual huh?

I can't afford to buy enough food to have a decent meal...how could I possibly consider any big purchases? I appreciate the overall idea, but really, capitalism is closer to the instigator of this whole situation than the solution to it.

Maybe you should get off the computer and take your own advice.

I recently bought a digi-cam and an external firewire hard drive...so maybe that helped a little. :p ;)

So you think keep spending will jump start the economy? Should I start maxing out my credit cards too? I can buy a house with them.

I just bought a new transmission for my girlfriend's car ($2500 and change). Does that count?

Ummm...I'm more buying this cuz...well, my family wants them...not so much as a concerted effort to help the economy.

1.) Digital Camera
2.) Smartmedia cards for the camera
3.) Hopefully a planar 17.4" LCD
4.) Perhaps a new printer to print the photos taken on the digital camera (depends how my current printer does with them)
5.) Well...I'm considering buying an ATI AIW Radeon...but I'm not sure if that can be considered jumpstarting the economy since i'd be buying it from a board member here. :p

All that spending will not help the 12,000 Contintental employees that just got laid off. Face it, until the war machine kicks in, this countries economy is going to go down. I am certainly not going to change my purchasing habits, but I am also not going to just spend frivalously.

sorry, all my money was donated to the multiple charities that arose after the terrorist attacks.

I'll be the street bum that begs you for donations now :)
