I must say I'm happy.

My 3Dmark2001 score went from 5460 to 6070 with the new Det 4's.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

Yeah, but look at all the people having technical problems...

Diablo 2's gone all wacky on me, and Quake 3 crashes if I try to look at the driver info screen. Other people have reported various and sundry problems with the things. Methinks something is amuck. :(

My sys:

1.33 Ghz Athlon
IWill KK-266 MB
256 megs of RAM
Hercules GF2MX

I think I'm going back to 12.xx until this blows over.

True. Actually, I just reverted to 12.41 (last official release) and I'm still getting weird framerate fluctuations. Might just be B.Net being crappy... though I'm not sure if that would affect the fps counter or not.

As for Quake 3, it's still crashing! I hope I didn't f*** up my system... I did delete a couple of .inf files from the windows directory while I was tearing out my old drivers in preperation for the Det4's. And, of course, like a dumbass I didn't save them :( They were all named nv4*.inf or nv3*.inf (some of each). I'm pretty sure that was all nVidia stuff, so pulling it shouldn't have hurt anything...

I was upgrading from 12.00.

UPDATE!
Somebody on one of the other threads mentioned the same Q3 issue and also said it was a problem in some of the 1x.xx drivers. I guess it either wasn't in 12.00, or I just didn't notice. Anyway, man am I relieved!

From the threads I've read it basically seems to give a huge boost for GF3 users, and there are a few technical issues with the drivers as is to be expected with any new revision.

Right now it seems to be mostly the GF3 users that are getting a large boost, and most of the others using GF1 and GF2 cards are staying roughly even or getting a very small performance boost, along with a subsection of users that are seeing a loss in performance.

Video Card: 3dfx Voodoo 3 3000 @ 218/218 (Voodoo 3) ???

What Gf card are you using Rand?

How much of a performance boost did you get?

I'm not using any nVidia card at present, I don't play much beyond RPG's so I don't exactly need a card that offers overly much in terms of gaming performance.
Needless to say, as I'm not using an Nvidia card I didnt see any performance increase as I'm not using the Det4's of course.

Installed them on a friends system earlier today though, saw roughly a 5% performance boost in most games, though performance did drop sharply in Madden 2002. Card in use was a GeForce2 MX at stock core/memory clock.

Just installed the Det4...errors free. Run games like FIFA 2001 for 30 mins...no glitches. Happy at time moment. Use a GF2 MX 200 cards. Slight performance increase.

Generally a better driver (at least at this moment). No through test yet.
