Even on more Trump-supporting websites the reception to Trump's performance seems lukewarm at best. He very bigly was a disgrace on the stage.

By keeping interest rates near 0 for nearly Obama's entire term so of course you'll see job growth. Only those that don't know macroeconomics think Obama accomplished this. And Bush was responsible for the subprime mortgage crisis? Wow
Maybe losing 800K jobs/month forced the feds hand with interest rates along with other steps taken.

Bush starting Iraq and tax cuts mainly for the rich sure exacerbated the problem. Lack of regulation and a laissez faire attitude towards Wall Street caused it which is directly out of the Republican playbook. The meltdown happened under his watch and like Katrina he was asleep at the switch.

In fairness the Clinton administration deregulation of derivatives was part of the starting mix of problems.

That headline is pretty ridiculous, but I thought the article actually did a good job summarizing the debate. Most of my impressions matched what the author listed.

I honestly thought Hillary could have been much harsher. There were a few points where if she had paused, looked into the camera and said "Seriously, how much longer are we going to listen to this nonsense? He doesn't know what he's talking about and it's embarrassing all of us" it would have reverberated. I thought her appeal to foreign viewers/leaders was powerful and made Trump look totally inept, but she could have gone for the throat and she really didn't.

That's how I felt as well, she could have hit some home runs off the balls that Trump threw her, given how the media jumps on every little thing she does, it's understandable she limited the improvisation.

He looked by far the more senile compared to a basically braindead turnip probably using all her strength to keep from falling over. That can't be good.

She did and talked actually quite well for a woman who is "basically on her death bed" and "senile". Trump didn't even ANSWER several questions which were asked, or he has hearing problems. Stamina <---> Looks comes to mind. Who is senile there?

Clinton was *definitely* on topic, her replies (as perceived by me) on point and good, displaying confidence and experience. He was the rambling idiot who did NOT bring more to the table than endlessly pointing out his "business experience", evading or not even answering question. Totally unprofessional.

Topic's still going eh?
It was a dumpster fire and Clinton came across as the only Presidential candidate on stage.

It's like she wanted to play rope-a-dope with him tonight and he just went all-in against that idea. I am hopeful that this result with make her go at him even harder next time. Demonstrate stamina and undermine all his bullshit.

The guy buys beauty pageants to get closer to women who wouldn't come near otherwise. Still not creepy as what he says about his daughter.
Did you see all that talk on Dr. Oz Trump talking about kissing his daughter? They edited it out. And the hip grabbing doesn't help either

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Just saw intro to Hannity. He opens up show with quote "Its been a good night for Donald Trump"

HOLY CRAP. Is that Fox News has gotten ratings all these years? Complete denial of reality? Or is Sean snorting some of Trump's coke?

You're touching on one of my favorite moments. The one where Trump uses Hannity to "prove" he was against the Iraq war. Yeah, forget all about what he said on public airwaves. In private, he told Sean Hannity something entirely different at the time. Just ask Sean.

So who's vouching for Trump on the ethics of his business deals, Karl Rove?

Interesting to see the bookie sites, seems like a pretty drastic shift happened about 20-30 minutes in to the debate, odds are even more solidly for clinton to win.

My knee jerk reaction?
Sad.... So very sad....
Like living the real life version of the movie Idiocracy.
And to think, I spent all those years in school for an education, only to feel like a 5 year old all over again.
They didn't need Lester Holt as moderator, they needed my first grade teacher, Miss Peacock.
Republican, democrat, indépendant, neural, looks like we're all really screwed.
Holy ass wipe Batman...
In the balls Robin....

Some of the commentators seem to think that Trump's biggest failing was not going after Clinton hard enough on the e-mails, Clinton foundation, Benghazi, etc. I don't agree. The trouble is that when he did go after her, she displayed a poised, even temperament. Even smiled. Clinton isn't easily rattled like Trump is. I have a feeling that Trump will "take the gloves off" more in the next debate but it will either backfire or just not accomplish much.

Trump's biggest problem tonight was his incoherence, particularly down the stretch. It's ironic that he went after Clinton on "stamina." Her stamina is actually amazing. His, not so much.
