Got an old Pentium I sitting here. Since it's practically useless for its original purpose, I'm looking for ideas on what else I could do with it.

Pics of front and back.

Pull out the Dremel and make it the power button for your case.

I remember upgrading from an 8088 4.77MHz to a 60MHz Pentium. I thought that Doom 1 and Megarace were virtual reality.

I even got a free coupon for Windows 95 because I got the system a month before it came out.

if u get enought of them u can secure them to a board and make tile flooring...

or better yet make a platform you can set hot pots/pans on (actually, ill do that right now, brilliant idea)

Make it into a stylin' pendant. Lace it with rhinestones/diamonds (depending on your budget) and go out and buy a stainless steel/platinum (depending on your budget) chain.

BIG PIMPIN: Intel-style. :D

I'm quite happy with the 16 megs of EDO RAM as my key chain (it was 32 megs before I cut it in half :D).

That would look utterly awesome. An entire floor made out of old CPUs, maybe with a clear-coat of some kind of resin over it all. But you'd need a damn lot of them. Funny thing is, I'm sure that you could get it for a relatively low cost if you find the right place. Some company probably has a few cases full of CPUs from an upgrade or something like that

Other use for a single CPU - a comb.

I would go with the keychain thing. If anyone has any good ideas I'm all about it too. I have a box of old processors that probably cost about $800 each when they were purchased. I hate to see them just thrown out.

A friend of mine has some old CPUs and other computer bits stuck in foam and framed on his wall. As a true geek I think it's pretty cool, you could find some more stuff and do something like that.
