Why do you put multiple kinds of christianity, but not Islam?

Because:

A) I don't know the kinds of Islam
B) More People answered LDS than the entire church of Islam
C) There is already plenty of categories

Shia and Sunni are as separate factions of Islam as is Protestant and Catholic in Christianity.

Even 4th graders these days know that.

Also...what do you mean no one asked for Confucianism? You asked for religions; and that's one that is as much of a religion as some people want to think Taoism is...which you included.

And hey, if you don't want to include Snake Handling, could you at least include Pentecostal? 😉

Alright, point-by-point:

There are still so few votes for Islam, and I don't want to destroy the data and make people revote.

Also, people asked for Taoism because they wanted to vote for it. If someone wants to vote for Confucianism, I'll add it. I don't want a ton of blank catagories.

And, Pentecostal has been added, althought it might fall under Prostestantism...

gotcha 😉

although, If you want to be technical...any Christian denomination that is not Catholic is more or less Protestant (Anglican and Lutheran is a grey area, but they do reject the pope)

If only this forum were representative of the real world: 45.5% atheist/agnostic. Unfortunately in the offline world we are surrounded by the superstitious at every turn.

I'm surprised there are so many atheists. I'm not sure how one can take such a steadfast position without an element of "faith", afterall who can say for sure there isn't a "supreme being" that influences our goings-on? It's unlikely, of course, but how can you be 100% sure? I guess I'll chalk it up to faith 😉

EDIT:

Some of you might want to refer to this. The religious zealots have somehow managed to give it a bad name, but I'd be surprised to find a single secular-minded individual who doesn't agree with most (if not all) of the principles entailed. For the record, I'm one of the 2 votes it has recieved.

Actually, Sunni and Shi'a are political divisions that have nothing to do with Islam.

Back when the first caliph was being chosen, some people wanted to side with Abu Bakr, and others wanted to go with Ali ibn Talib. The result was a separation in the people; those who followed Abu Bakr call themselves "Sunni", and those following Ali "Shi'a". However, it was a difference in who should be the person to lead the Umma (the community of Muslims), not in a dispute over the articles of Islam; the Qur'an is one book and neither sect has its own version. There is only one Islam, but petty differences in political ideology have resulted in misguided people assuming that the Umma is divided.

That makes so much sense. Thank you.
