Let's crack down the XP shut down problem?

I run Xp pro and ever since I installed Roxio software(ez cd creator 5.something platinum) Ive had problems. It works but not that well. Yes I have installed without direct cd wich has a known compatability problem XP. Anyway Roxio is about to release a fix for the incompatability. Takes 4 minutes to shut down, used to be 10 seconds.

I have gf3 plus det 21.8x
mine would not shut down at all under xp, this thurned out to be a bad bios ver A07 from dell a reflash to A08 fixed it.
But Rc2 it not as stable as Rc1?
interesting point is that dell carry all the past bios vers but have dumped A07 no sign at all

<< Roxio's DirectCD will not even work with W2K SP2 and they have no fix for it. This product has been bug ridden ever since they introduced it. I used to use DirectCD with W98 constantly but with W2K it's a disaster. What's even worse is that Roxio doesn't appear to know what they are doing. Even EZCD is suspect in many cases. >>



I have W2k SP2 with Direct CD 5 installed, and I have no problem with it. Maybe it is because I never installed the EZ CD Creator Platinum stuff yet? Direct CD by itself works fine on my machine.
