when you add a server where does it put it? it would be kinda nice to know what the name of the server was so we could find it

These servers are down (at least they were a minute ago).

Anyone have another server that we can all play on?

I was playing on 204.248.53.42 earlier. I tried to connect and it said it was full. I tried to connect again and it was no more :(

I'm in serious need of some torpedo action.

has the password for the server changed? i was putting in the usual "eatme" password but it wouldn't work :(

My server (posted above) runs on a 6Mbps T1 mux. 2 T1s from QWest and 2 from XNet Communications. It's on an Athlon 800 w/ 512MB of PC133 and it's located at the ISP where I work here in Northern Illinois. I ping 30ms with my DSL and usually the average ping is around 50-70ms with all 24 people on. For some reason the dedicated server likes to die, I think it's buggy software as other admins are reporting the same thing. Even setting it up as a service in Windows does not work and it fails restart the service properly for some reason. Anyway, that's why the server keeps dying. I've tried all kinds of stuff but it just doesn't like to stay up very long. It's up right now though, I think. The name of the server is "Hastezone.com".

ok, they changed the password because of TKers, and they don't want the pw being posted on other forums.... SOOO

if you want you can go to THIER forums Arstechnica and probably find the password somewhere in there.


But make sure if they ask you say you are from Ars. Eventually maybe we'll have our own team and can fight against them. I think that would be really cool. Arstechnica vs Anandtech

I just wanted to say this, since I'm so excited about it (it's unhealthy, really). I just installed the new Detonator 40.41 drivers, and it has fixed the crappy text in BF1942!! Now I can actually read the chat in-game!! Hallaleujah!!!! (did I spell that right?)

lol it was funny to watch Excession and LoneWolf whine about getting Tk'd by me..

Excession was the one who started TKing me first cause I took his tank..

and LoneWolf was just talking a lot of sh** so we went back and forth...

Even with the TK's on them (seperate games) I still came out in most games with high score... shows how much they suck!

Just figured out what fixes the text (for me anyways). If you are having problems with the text being pretty much unreadable, then go into your display properties. Go to the settings tab, and click the Advanced button towards the bottom. Then click on the GeForce tab up top. Go into the 3D Antialiasing Settings, and turn on the Texture Sharpening option at the bottom. This is what does it!

chrisisbored: I was actually in that game as well, and you were pretty much tk'ing everyone, myself included. We were all just messing around w/ the jeeps anyway...
