CineBench 2003 is the free benchmarking tool for Windows and Mac OS based on the powerful 3D software CINEMA 4D R8. The tool is set to deliver accurate benchmarks by testing not only a computer's raw processing speed but also all other areas that affect system performance such as OpenGL, multithreading, multiprocessors and Intel's new HT Technology.

CINEBENCH 2003 includes render tasks that test the performance of up to 16 multiprocessors on the same computer as well as software-only shading tests and OpenGL shading tests on huge numbers of animated polygons that will push any computer to its limits.

What is the reason for the 9800pro laying the smackdown on my 6600GT in OGL? Is it the 256mb version Technonut? That just strikes me as a little odd so I thought I'd ask.

More oddness; Lord Banshee gets 1.65 for Multiprocessor Speedup but his single seems low  What variables are at play with this bench? Is it greatly effected by HDD or ram speed and latency? amount of graphics ram?

No, It is 128MB... Maybe because I flashed the BIOS to XT speeds.

I just won't pay anymore attention to the graphics scores. No f'in way should a 9800p/XT be outscoring MarkFW's X800Pro. My best guess is it is related to using a P4 instead of AMD 64bit CPU.

stevty2889 your results are extremely low for what equip. you have. Did you have a lot of applications running in the background or something?

I was thinking the same thing, nothing else seemed to be using the cpu at the time, I am wondering if maybe thermal throttling was kicking in or something.

That could be throttling then as you suspect, try the utility and find out for certain.

More proof bandwidth means little on A64. You have half the bandwidth and score nearly identical.
