Let us discuss Car fragrances that actually smell good and work.

Also smell your shoes and sandals. If they smell the same then its more likely athletes foot fungus if you know for sure its not about food spills.

Youtube videos say to truly freshen up your car then spay some Lysol while your car AC is running with recirculation turned off so you get air from the outside and while outside spray the lysol at the base where the windshield wiper joints are at and when you spray then you will see the spray getting sucked in. This way you are also deodorizing the air filter as well.
Some of those air filters can smell funky when new anyway!

I've been using those Yankee Candle fragrance beads that come in a jar that you peel the top off. Sticking with November Rain scent for now. They work well and last a month or so depending on temps.

That's right...everyone that likes to use air fresheners are doing it to cover up nasty smells.

They're not air fresheners, though. More like air chemicalizers. Again, try the activated carbon charcoal bags. If you want your car to just smell fresh and like new materials, it's the best bet. I can't tolerate fragrances very much. Give me a headache. There's something about purified and clean air that really amps me up.

But if the odor-producing compound is still present in the car, this won't solve the problem. You have to remove whatever is emitting the odors first. If it is a stain in the carpet, you have to wash it out first. If it is a rotting object, you have to remove it and clean up the remains that got embedded into the fabric.

Activated carbon works best for residual odors, but it will not mask long-term odors that are still being released by a rotten sandwich under the car seat. I would use activated carbon after the actual cause has been treated.

You aint joking. I was seeing this woman a while back who had the black ice tree hanging in her car. First thing she said when I first got into her car was, "I love the smell of this" She then grabs it and takes a big wiff of it and says, "ITS SMELLS LIKE MAN"

I actually paused for a sec or two while putting on my seat belt and stared at her. Had a female coworker tell me my car smells I accidently spilled a bottle of syncromesh in the trunk. She recommended black ice as well.

Make sure you pronounce it clearly. Some embarrassing situations can result if you go to the counter and the cashier hears "Do you have any black guys?"

I never use any sort of fragrance in my car. Never. I don't smoke, don't eat in it and regularly vacuum it out. There's no need for it.
