Another week, another fine from the NFL for Lions' Suh. This guy just like like the Energizer rabbit, keeps on going and going and going for some more fine.

just saw the suh video, that's a pretty bullshit fine. I'd expect it to be eliminated on appeal.

manual going to be out another 6 weeks, go bills!

Naah

The NFL is going to keep doing it. Suh did it to himself and he knows it. I mean the guy stomped on someone's neck on national TV. I like how Suh is FINALLY manning up to his errors. But its going to take some time before the league gets off his back.

they seem to have a better record than the Cowgirls and are in first place in their division. That seems to be a better place than when they traded Williams (0-16). Pettigrew delivers good numbers even though his hands are not sure.

Are you going for the ignorant award this week?
I think you knew what he was saying: they didn't gain significantly because of the trade. Which despite the comment, was the point.

Cowgirls are in first of their division too, which is also irrelevant to the trade. 😛

Of course I did. I just don't like the dude.

And I saw that the Cowboys are on top. GOOD. I got my head smashed in for defending Romo after the Broncos game. I like the guy and think he's a damn good qb.

Still don't like the Cowboys though.

Yeah, well fuck you and your whore mother! 😀

:beer;

I was surprised to see a pretty even keeled discussion here on Romo, there were only a few choke/homo posts. Most, like you, gave a pretty honest evaluation of him. Last I checked he's a top 3-5 QB this year stats wise, but that was before last weeks mediocre performance.

I wouldn't count on it, but we could win 4 of the next 6. Philly could do the same though... This weeks game will be incredibly important and both teams have key injuries. I think we're starting two Xs at DE. D:

The thread from that game was awesome. It devolved into people basically just mashing keys because we were all so excited. One of the best games in the history of the NFL.

I'm very curious to see how the playoffs work out this year.

I think the NFL needs someone with better vision to make these reviews. The guy whos job it is to fine people is CLEARLY BLIND. The hit Suh was fined for was CLEAN, his hands clearly make first contact to his chest, and the slowed down video doesn't show ANY helmet to body contact, infact Suhs OWN hands are in front of his helmet.

And the NFL is a joke. It singles out players and punishes them while not doing the same to other players. You can shove a ref and not be ejected/fined these days. If you are a QB you are free to be a dirty as you want to be because you WILL NOT be suspended or flagged. You merely get a $10k slap on the wrist for actions as bad as Suh's stomp.

Players need to be punished/fined the same or not at all. I mean last year Cam Newton clearly, intentionally, kicked a player in the face in the same vain as Suhs "stomp". In the same game he made contact(not of the incidental kind) with a ref. He was not flagged in the game for either violation. Afterwards he was $31,000. Both events should have been auto ejections. There should have also been a much larger fine and a multi game suspension for the kick to the players facemask. And honestly Super Bowl or not, intentional contact with a ref should always be an auto ejection, it should also incur a 1 game suspension as well.

Yeah, when I saw the replay, I was trying to see where he "lead with his helmet".🙄

I mean, he didn't dive for Weeden's knees and use that BS "hit'em low" excuse, he didn't hit the guy in the helmet, but he hit him right in the chest area...the only legal place to hit a guy, and that draws a fine?

There was no use nor benefit for Suh "changing the way he plays", as Dan Marino and Shanno Sharpe so idiotically suggested several weeks ago...I think Suh understands that great players take the good with the bad.

forgot to add giants signed hillis.

I am not expecting good things. He was mediocre for the Chiefs last year (yeah the whole team sucked) and Tampa decided to keep Brian Leonard over him. Plus he has burned bridges with his past teams and is known to not get along with players in the locker room.

I see him as nothing more than a 2 week rental until they get Andre Brown back.

Tonight's game hopefully should be pretty good. I am hoping Arizona wins because the Seahawks throw immaculate receptions, but we'll see. Hopefully Carson Palmer actually shows up and tries tonight. That guy has all but given up in my opinion.

Uhm, He never stomped on anyones neck, or are you thinking of the love tap he gave to Dietrichs arm on Thanksgiving?

Fines should start at 10% of your salary. 2nd offense is now 15% of your salary. 3rd offense and you are at 25% of your salary. That will get the players attention really fast.
3 offenses and you are out half of your salary.

And when the league starts suspending him and he becomes a liability for a team to keep him on the roster, I'm sure he will just "take the good with the bad." He can not change, if that is what he wants, but it will get him off a team.

you are a moron

Have you seen the penalties he's been fined for? Anyone else wouldn't even get noticed. But he is under the microscope.

He is playing better and has no flagrant personal fouls this year. He's becoming a leader. But because of his past, he is going to continue to get flagged and fined.

He is not a liability you mouth breather.

Somebody is mad.

I never said anything about his play. I agree, he isn't being fairly fined, but that doesn't change the fact eventually it will be an illegal hit (it happens) and he will be suspended. And when it happens again, or even something close to that, it will be a longer suspension. He made a name for himself being stupid. His past is going to haunt him unless he does some serious image changing, he is a liability.

You've already seen it yourself. The Weeden fine was BS. It is like they didn't look at the replay. But, that doesn't matter. What matters is he has 7 fines in 4 years, and it will only get worse. How long before suspensions? How long before the Lions see they are paying someone to sit out now?

You will get an iq higher than 100 before that happens.

So never

Pettigrew has helped, but Williams paid off that season and the next. The Cowboys wouldn't have benefited from those same picks (Witten was been more productive) and Derrick Williams was a huge bust. The Lions have a solid team now, but it wasn't in large result from that trade. They've made great draft choices with their picks prior (Stafford and Megatron for example). I think them acquiring Reggie Bush was great thing as well. However, 2011 was the first time they've made the playoffs since 1999 and they haven't won their division since 1993.

LOL! I love it when people compare what player another team picked from trades. That is not valid as Dallas would not have used that pick for Pettigrew. Did you ever look and see what players were available at that pick and later? Granted, Dallas could have made some bad picks if they had them.

The value of those picks did not come anywhere close to the numbers that Williams put up. He was a huge bust and for you to sit there and try and say he wasn't is laughable. That trade hurt Dallas far more than it helped.

Don't talk bad about T. Richardson around here, you will get people coming in here talking about how you are wrong and he needs time to adjust to his new scheme. His 3.6 ypc average for his career is not his fault !!!

Here's a fun question: Who has more 20+ yard carries from week 1 of 2012 (Richardson's NFL debut) through today - Trent Richardson or BenJarvus Green-Ellis?

If you answered BenJarvus Green-Ellis, you're correct!

Other acceptable answers would be: Michael Turner, Bernard Pierce, Isaac Redman, Ronnie Hillman, Randall Cobb, LeGarrette Blount, Vick Ballard, and Christian Ponder.

The entire argument was comparing it to the Herschel Walker trade. Williams did something and the picks the Lions for for him were one decent TE and a even more bust receiver who is not bouncing from practice squad to practice squad. Detroit did some rebuilding, but it wasn't because of that trade. Their past bad seasons and good picks on their part, has made them competitive. However, unlike the Herschel Walker trade, they have no rebuilt into a division championship team (this might be their year though) or a Superbowl team.

As a straight trade, not in the comparison we were making, Roy Williams wasn't the best thing we could have done. He cost 3 picks and a lot of money. However, at the time, we had a playoff ready team and Williams did at least have some production.

And after looking at the actual draft, instead of making the trade they should have picked Percy Harvin or Mike Wallace. Even Clay Mathews was picked later than their first pick.

You forgot Suh was fined AGAIN! $31,500 for Weeden HIt. Dude's going to be broke from fines at this rate. 😀

the vp in charge 'didnt like where his head was', b/c it could have been a spear type tackle or some shit

agree, they might as well TV timeout and let the replay dude decided on those bad hits with how shitty their % is on being right

Couldn't happen to a better team, karma bitches!

Browns sign a WR from the packers practice team, and promptly put him on IR when he fails his entry physical with an ACL tear.
