Let me Clear this up on Kobe Bryant

1. The Lakers lied to Kobe. They said they would do their best to get good players, but they told Phil Jackson secretly that they don't plan on being a contender for a long time. Kobe found out through Phil Jackson.

2. The Lakers used Kobe's star power to attract fans and fill seats only. They had no plans to bring in expensive players because they don't want to pay so much. The Lakers tickets are the most expensive in sports because of Kobe.

3. Kobe did not run Shaq out of town. Kobe said it, Jerry Buss said it, even Shaq said it. Get over it guys.

4. Kobe doesn't want to waste his only prime years playing with Smush Parker, Luke Walton, and Kwame Brown. Those players wouldn't even make the roster for other teams.

5. The only way Kobe can get this out is through public.

6. Kobe wants to WIN. If Kobe just signed a contract to be lazy and don't care about winning, he'd look like Tracy Mcgrady and plenty of contract year players. This guy wants to WIN.

7. For those of you who think Kobe ballhogs, you tell me who he can pass it to...

8. After 3 years, the Lakers are still on ground zero. They don't have another decent player besides Kobe and Lamar Odom. Kobe busted his ass to get the Lakers to the playoffs only losing to a much superior team 2 years in a row.

9. For those of you who say Kobe is a cry baby, would MJ, Larry Bird, Magic want to be play their hardest while being lied to and only make the last spot in the playoffs every year with no hope of the future?

10. The Lakers let Kobe take the bullet for the whole Shaq and Phil thing even though it wasn't his fault at all. Jerry Buss said to Kobe that he will trade Shaq no matter what! He didn't care what Kobe thought.

Before all of you take judgment, please, please, just think. Kobe has been the scapegoat every since 2003 and he's tired of it. He just wants to play...

No, I am not Kobe. I am just reporting what I've learned following him through this career. Btw, to those of you who think I am bias, my favorite player is Kevin Garnett, and my favorite team is the Warriors. I

I read that article yesterday. Please visit most NBA forums. Even Kobe-haters thought the article is stupid.

There will always be journalists who will make quick bucks bashing superstars.

Are you the apple in Kobe's fruitbasket? If so, please be honest with Kobe so he can buy apples that consider him their favorite player.

I've always lived in LA and have followed the lakers for decades. The article is 100% correct. Kobe = cancer.

The problem is that you're in a computer forum where much of the input comes from retards/idiots who dont know jack about the topic at hand.

This can be said for many topics on ATOT, but sports stand out.

Regardless of your "facts" versus the "facts" of somebody else, perception is reality. And the perception of Kobe is of a ball hogging, running Shaq out of town, selfish misogynist. He's had that rep since day one as a Laker, and just as much in life outside of basketball. I consider myself a pretty hardcore NBA fan (Jazz through and through, although they're going to get knocked out tonight) and have never liked Kobe, not because he doesn't have mad skillz YO but because he's always been about him first, everybody else second. Is that a true statement? No idea, but that's my perception of him based on behavior I've seen on the court, media reports, and to be honest, his own pre and post game interviews.

There's no denying his talent, but he's never been able to play beyond himself. I find his current basketball mannerisms similar to Jordan's early years. Yeah, on pure skill alone, he can put up a lot of points, but does he make his team better? Jordan eventually learned this. I don't think Kobe is there yet.

Just as AI can dish out 20 assists a game and Mutmbo doesn't always smack somebody in the face with his elbow, their reputations are as a ball hog and an elbow thrower respectively. It follows you around and right or wrong, this is Kobe's.

Thanks for starting your own thread Kobe. There is one already on the front page of these boards that everyone would share with you. In fact if we all pitched in on it we could probably take it to the top of the charts here....champions if you will. I guess you share on ATOT about as much as you like to share the spotlight on your team.

I ate kobe on memorial day. Tasted great. Seemed overrated though. And it hogged all the flavor in the dish.

I'm on kobe's side with this one ... why waste your time on a team that utterly sucks. Even when you play pick up games, you don't want to be in a team filled with idiots. You make the hustle play, rebound or steal, take it down court, ditch your teammate and he turns it over. Or you drive the lane and draw on 3 people, ditch the ball to a wide open teammate and clanks it more than 80% of time. Regardless of who you are, after while you'll get really sick of playing there.

Like I said before.. you are one of those who follow the media and not the facts

Did you know that Magic told the Lakers get rid of Paul Westhead or I am leaving

Chick Hearn told the Lakers to get rid of Michaels or he will not work there

Shaq said "pay me my fcking money" and Buss told him to get lost

Is Magic a cancer - Chick?

Kobe is most angered that they lied to him and were telling even more lies about him behind his back

Him and Caron Butler were friends and they booted him

the Shaq trade was dumb as can be.. They took Brian Grant and he never played for them

Someone picked up Aaron McKie and Smuch Parker
The drafted Cook instead of Barbosa or Josh Howard

More and more etc etc

Can't you see the huge conspiracy to make Kobe the bad guy? It makes perfect sense. The oil companies that control the NBA and the Lakers franchise are trying to squeeze as much money out of the team as they can and are blaming everything on Kobe. I'm surprised you didn't pick up on this, noto13ious. They (the oil companies) were the ones who paid that girl to claim Kobe raped her. We should all feel sorry for Kobe Bryant.

You can say that Kobe had no part of Shaq leaving, and you can keep on saying it, and it will keep on being wrong.

No way you can tell me that all the problems the two of them had, then Shaq won't even refer to Kobe by name after he left, etc....and Kobe had nothing to do with it? Riiigght. Complete BS.

And Kobe is NOT the reason the Lakers are the most expensive tickets, if they even are. The Lakers were the Lakers long before Kobe ever got there. I think a few guys like Chamberlain, West, Magic, Kareem, Worthy, etc. might have had more to do that that legacy than Kobe has to this point.
Put it this way: Let Kobe get traded to New Orleans or Charlotte, with a similar cast of players. Think those tickets there will become the most expensive? Hell no.

I'm not saying Kobe doesn't have a point, but the bottom line is, he wanted Shaq gone so he could be the man. He got it. He's the man.
I can see that he'd like a few other good players, but the Lakers really can't bring another superstar in, because he'd be butting heads with Kobe, not to mention fighting over the ball.

And yeah, he may not have anyone to pass to now, but he did a few years ago and was still a ball hog.
