WhooHooo! About time we get some SNOW here in upstate NY (no white Christmas for us this year). Winter storm warning starts oficially at 2PM for my region. Forecast is for 8-14" total by tomorrow night. Finally we get our snow back from you people in California and Texas 😉

No fair!

Up herei n NH we are supposed to get some, but only about 6", which will promptly be followed by some nice freezing rain to add a wonderful sheet of ice on top of the snow. :frown:

I want a good 20"+ storm dammit! We had three 24"+ storms last year....grrr. 🙁
 
i heard 1"-3" snow in buffalo, ny from the radio.
I guess I am wrong.

hah, my sisters are leaving to nyc today and going down south tomorrow. :|

Boooo...who wants snow? There is barely any on the ground this morning yet my drive time doubled this morning because people seem to forget how to drive as soon as the weather gets a little bad.

The usual "at home" stuff. Get the sleds out, make a snowman, etc.... My 3 year old son LOVES to sled and play in the snow. Plus my wife and I just like the look of the community in a beautiful fresh blanket of white.

Of course there is the after snow activities - coming back inside to hot coco and coffee. My favorite is when my son has gone to bed and we retire to the bedroom to warm each other up 😉 🙂

shaping up to be one of the worst winters... such mild weather it makes me sick. This storm is supposed to just bring rain and freezing rain with slight possibility of 1-3 inches of snow. Then of course the rest of the week will see highs in the 50s- what a crock!

I agree. It is supposed to change to freezing rain/rain later on Thursday here in the Southern-Tier. Where are the days of the 2 -3 feet of snow on the ground and big storms?

I've heard that we are currently in another El Nino year, although it is much weaker than the big one we had awhile back and majorly screwed up the winter. I'm not sure if that's why, but it has been a strange winter...snow where there is usually very little or none, and rain/freezing rain when we should be having snow around here.

You know, now that I think about it, that El Nino year was the year we had that wicked bad ice storm up here in New England. Anyone remember that?
 
6-10" in SE Wisconsin, today. I can finally try out the new skiblades I bought myself for Christmas. 🙂
 
We're under a strom warning as well... Hopefully tomorrow is a snow-day 🙂

Only bad thing is I dont get paid for Snow-days.

I dont even get paid if I work from home... So... I just dont take the laptop home 🙂
 
In southern Vermont, it's been snowing lightly all morning, but no accumulation. It's supposed to snow thru Thursday but maybe change to sleet or rain. For me, total is supposed to be only 4". Mountains will get more.
 
forecast says 4-6" here (central NY)... 🙁 I want another winter like last year, when he got over a foot of snow on Christmas alone! It's so depressing; right now there is green grass on my lawn! What is grass doing growing in january?!?!?!
