Are there any comparable motherboards as far as overclocking to the Asus A7v that are a little cheaper.

Not really. There is the QDI Kinetz, but it doesn't allow voltage changes which would limit your overclocking ability severely. The Asus A7V or the Abit are your only real overclocking choices.
