If you watch this video with Dave & Tim, it's a good example of what the Dreaming Tree sounds like without LeRoi there. It's just not the same.

I'm just happy that there are so many tracks out there with his influence on it. He was a great artist and was a huge part of DMB's success. It's almost worse losing him than losing Dave because now there is a huge hole in the band that only a few people in the world would be able to fill.

If i was in a nice successful band enjoying life, no way in hell you would catch me on an ATV!! WTF is he doing riding around on an ATV at 46!!? I mean seriously!

He had a farm... most people that have farms have ATVs of some sort.

The problem is most people don't wear helmets with ATVs... but I don't think it would have helped him.

Yeah 🙁 And the instrumentals are the best part about the group IMHO. I mean, I love Dave's voice and all, but it's the other members that truly make them great.

That being said, I do appreciate being able to hear the majority of the songs with just Dave and Tim vs the whole band. The whole mood/temp is just worlds apart.

I just saw them a few weeks ago in late July. This is very sad for me. I started listening to them over the past few months and have gotten into them. This is too sad 🙁

Can't stand Dave Matthews Band, but it's always a shame to lose a musician, so

🙁 Love DMB. Although they've gone down hill musically in the last few albums i think. Still one of the all time greats.

They peaked at Before These Crowded Streets IMHO, and that was in 1998. The Lillywhite Sessions is pretty damned good too, but they watered it down too much for Busted Stuff.

I won't even mention what I think about Everyday...

that's crazy that they're still gonna go on with the show

Dave's whole fuggin' life has been about death. Friends, his dad, his sister, Stefan's infant girl -- I'm sure he's all torn up inside, but I'm sure LeRoi would have wanted it this way.

And I'm DAMN sure that he's gonna be talking about his friend onstage.

Although this is unfortunate, I think it's better for him to go this way instead of a drug overdose or other ways most musicians go.

I dunno man, going out due to complications from riding on a ATV is pretty lame way to go...

Either way

Yeah...especially that he had been released for a month and was in rehabilitation.

No details yet, but assuming he had only broken ribs and a punctured lung as injuries; I'd say an infection or fluids set into his lung.

Sucks either way....still young and still successful
