The fact is that the panther and leopard—which, except as to size, are about alike in spotted pelt and temper—are as much under-estimated as the tiger is over-estimated.

Such, when dealing with tigers, is the favorite method also of wild dogs, which are swift, and hunt both by sight and scent, never leaving the trail once it is entered upon. They never make a frontal attack, or lay themselves liable to the hoof or paw of what they are pursuing, but tirelessly follow, awaiting opportunity to swiftly overwhelm by numbers, or, in the case of a tiger, to leave the beast emasculated and to slow death. I heard of tigers killed by these dogs...

It does not deliver bone-crushing blows with its fore paws, like Bruin, although it does give blows that lacerate the flesh. It does not roar like a lion...

There is also much exaggeration concerning size and weight. A tiger that measures ten feet from the tip of its nose to the end of its tail is a big one, and above the average, which is about nine and a half feet. Of course there are exceptions, as in all animal kind, but the majority of eleven and twelve foot tiger stories are fiction. I was unable during six months' hunting to find definite account of one even eleven feet in length. I did hear of several ranging from ten feet to ten feet six inches, and one of ten feet eight inches. So also with the weight, which is commonly written down at from 4oo to 5oo pounds, whereas the average will run from 3oo to 375 pounds, the latter being a good one and the former figure more near the average

Nothing beats eye witnesses, seems like the leopard is favored over tigers. What makes leopards seem to be better fighters, is because they are more accustomed to open grounds (africa) as to his indian counter part, the tiger usually relys on pure ambush, the leopard has the upper hand on this one:

In head on fights, the tiger seems to be medicore:

The tiger with its 8.8 cm KwK 36 L/56 gun would be unable to harm the leopards armor so im not surprised the eyewitnesses favour the leopard.

Who. Frickin'. CARES. [question mark].

Obviously you do, or it wouldnt have botherd you to look into the thread...

Anyways...

The leopard has the home field advantage of being more accustomed to open confrontation, via hyenas, lions, baboons, gorillas and chimps, savannahs and deserts, he is the more frequent to conflicts...the tiger lives in jungles, monsoons and marsh pits. His conflicts are unheard of other than myth, since theres 100s to thousands of leopard encountering apex predators, the tiger wheather bengal or siberian, hasn't a single photo of them enteracting with wolves. They only encounter sloth bears, and they usually have the hardest time being the winner. Fighting and hunting are two different things, the tiger is a good hunter towards bovines, but fighting them:

Even if other people care about X large cat vs. Y large cat, you are the only one who personally cares that people supposedly inflate the fighting prowess of tigers and you are the only one who personally cares that the fighting ability of leopards is similarly underestimated (supposedly).

You not only chose to dedicate your attention and focus to something no one cares about, you made it you mission to correct their assumptions about something they never cared much about in the first place.

I'm just here because I can't help staring at your horrific malfunction like I was passing a bloody train wreck or something.

Is that why you capatalized the word care?

Either you are trolling, cares but has no argument, or have torrets. You don't speak for all the views, you're just a run around troll, I dont assume anything, I'm just quoting the facts, since I don't see any other plausible theory in why the tiger was killed by 4 small female leopards via Chita, Puss, Beauty and Louis roths leopard other than the tigers throat is highly vulnerable and no amount of strength, size, bite force...whatever, can stop another predator from ripping it out...especially one that is more cunning, faster, more agile and posses more dexterity. If you dont like the subject, its kinda like a old fashion radio box...just change channel.

You don't have to post here if you arnt interested.

leopards have far more conflicts that gain them knowledge and skill to fight:

To be honest, I think a prime leopard from africa can kill the 1,025 pounder tiger Jaipur:

TigerJaipur1025poundJoanByron-Marasek.jpg

Since what is the obese fat tiger gona do? He is already henderd by his over feeding and is beyound incapable of performing simple task's, I guess that one is a win in the history books, a 150 lb leopard >>>>1,025lb tiger. lol

The tigers method of fighting, is standing bipedal and back fighting (according to the experts) and photos:

The speaker said that the lion is truly the king of beasts. While tigers and lions do not fight in .heir native jungles because one :nhabits Africa and the other India, 'even an old and feeble lion will lick any tiger ever born." He said the tiger is a "back fighter." It rolls over on its back, tries to plant ts fangs in its enemy's throat while disembowelling it with its hind legs.
http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...rotects+neck&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&prmd=ivns&strip=1

Back-fighting puts the tigers throat in a vulnerable spot, much more than any cat, which is a leverage for a leopard to be more times in a dominant position in getting the throat.

FFS, why in God's name would anyone care to give a "plausible theory" about such a worthless event?!

The real reason you didn't get one: because no one cares. Duh.

Jeez, I just asked the question a few minutes ago, and you hop in like some kind of retarded bunny looking to derail the thread, I asked it because no one would have ever thought it was possible, they'd assume size and weight are factors, which it wasnt, one person appreciated the info, thats good enough for me. So ya don't care, is that why you have your own thread of similar content:

You were already drawing conclusions from the lack of "plausible theories" and yet it is somehow too soon for me to explain the lack of "plausible theories?" Weird.

And, yes, a disapproving parody of your threads that I also disapprove of is a contradiction. You got me there.

Now: Look up the definition of "facetious," since you clearly didn't get the sarcasm either.

XD XD XD I drew my own conclusions? Its a theory 3 experts with over a 100 fights witnessed from Bert nelson, Frank buck and Clyde beatty, observation trumps any speculation...its basically fact that the tiger uses these 2 methods (back fighting x Bipedal), and it shows they are his un-doing, as the experts base there opinions on actual fights not speculations from thin air.

How about you go back into your-inactive tigon thread where you lied and contradicted that you voted for the liger, when you voted for the tigon. lol Sarcasm? Poor excuse for a dead from the start thread. XD

...

It is not a theory that leopards face more competition, its a fact:
leopard-and-hyena-at-kill-640x362.jpg

Leo.png

Tigers are killed by d'holes, dogs that are 3 times smaller than the hyena. Tigers avoid fights and sometimes are seen sharing carcases, leopards are more territorial. The asiatic leopard faces everything the tiger does, toppled in with his african counter part that faces much more, hyenas, baboons, mugger crocs, lion prides, chimp coalitions, full grown silver backs, and gets confronted by herds of wildebeast, buffalo and more rhinos all in the open grounds...the tiger merely hides out all day under the palm.

Awww, did they have to raise the tiger up a foot, to make him feel like hes bigger than the bears and lion:

2128963705_601a56d5ba.jpg

Hes only bigger than the leopard an jaguar in size:
3203755611_f7a2f7f4e6_n.jpg

Quite sad that the tiger is known as the biggest species of cats, yet is nearly dwarfed everytime hes hext to a large maned lion in almost every single photo with them together.
