I want a cable assembly so I can use this as a carputer, so I would like the monitor to be 10 feet or so from the CPU, do they make a cable assembly that will do this?

It would be really nice to have this mounted to the ceiling and the CPU stored somewhere else.

Thanks

The company in this video (http://www.laptopscreen.com/) makes LVDS extenders, which I believe is the LCD cable the lenovo x60 tablet because it looks like the one I see in the link below about replacing the x60's screen

A) We do not make those cables
B) Those are pretty specific to left-right positioning,
and actually are not fine for use over 5-7 inches.

What OP might consider is splicing their LVDS cable and extending it with regular wires, wrapped in some sort of shielding (aluminum tape)

However it is not a recommended scenario.

Personally I've pondered a carputer, and having a laptop in the trunk to drive it seems like a cost effective solution, especially if you have a spare laptop already.

I came to a conclusion that something like this

Which is driven by a VGA/DVI/HDMI interface, which can stretch over 2 meters from the car trunk, would be an ideal solution.
