THINKPAD

HOpe not REPOSTal

Dont know much about these laptops other than the fact man think they are the bomb. we have ibm thinkpads at work...guess they are okay, however, i have seen problems with them as well as any other brand, but for the price. it is a pretty good deal.

The price on the page is after $150 rebate, but when you look at the rebate details it says up to $150 rebate. This rebate on this laptop is $75, not $150. Still, $700 after rebate is a pretty good price, just not the $625 advertised.

the price will be $699.99 AR w/free ship

if you use the $15 off $200 new customer coupon price will go down to $675 AR.

Nice price.

I think this is still a better deal than the Dell Inspiron 6000... no huge rebates plus Windows XP Pro and the reliability of the thinkpad 🙂

Yep - too bad this isn't a 1400x1050. If it was I can think of a few friends who'd probably jump on this deal.

Yeah, if it was SXGA+ / 1400x1050 I'd buy this right now. Hot deal still.

Back in stock!

Edit: I bought one this morning at the $685 AR price (w/ $15 off coupon). Now it looks like the price has gone up to $749.99 AR.

Oooo, the old supply demand curves are meeting at a higher price point. Definitely the most basic law of economics. I'll be waiting some more before buying lappy number one. Some day.

Thinkpad build quality >>>>>>>> Bottom barrel Acer

FYI to those who asked, the same companies that physically build the Thinkpads are used by Lenovo as IBM. Lenovo is now in charge of Thinkpad development and has rights to the name/brand for at least another four years. Pretty much everyone from the IBM PC division got moved to Lenovo with the sale. Same people, same quality, different name.
