Lenovo is NOT IBM. IBM sold their consumer computer division to lenovo (a seperate company) a while back.

and Lenovo has maintained the tradition of boxy styling and uncompromising quality since then.

I love my T61p.

I couldn't agree more. Best purchase I've made in a long time. It is funny though... one of my students seriously asked if I bought my computer "like seven years ago." YES. Because laptops came with vista seven years ago! *headbutt*

edit: I did like the video because it made a good point, but the Dell desktop parody of the macbook air dominates all.

linky to dell parody?

If I had a Macbook Air, I'd plug the same things into it that I plug into my HP. Nothing. I can't even remember the last time I put a disc into my laptop either.

The joke is on Lenovo. Their product runs Windows.

given the choice to either use a comp running any apple OS or windows ME, i would go with win ME

Actually it was great. The Macbook Air is a total gimmick and piece of crap.
Have you used one? It's actually pretty nice to use, and easy to just slide into your bag. However, it is grossly overpriced. But then again, there's nothing on the market like it.

Corbett, I hope you DO realize that
1) OSX is essentially BSD at it's roots, which is a cousin to linux
2) there is a way to run actual OSX on other computers, even posted in the "all things apple" section of anandtech forums
3) the hardware in the macbook air is actually very similar to a lenovo, but the lenovo includes more hardware, at a lower price
4) this thread is not about OSes, but about two seperate laptops?

It is good for internet marketing, but hopefully they don't put it on TV (seemed kinda cheaply done)

Hell, its been more than 3 years since I have bought it and I still love my T42p. Rock solid performance, ultra reliable and excellent customer support (I have the employee warranty extension till 2010).

That was terrible.

It's certainly cheesy, but it got it's point across!

Pretty much.

Yes, I believe the point IBM was trying to make was, their sh!t still looks like it was designed in the 1980s. They should have a guy with a Michael Jackson glove pulling the X300 out of "Return of the Jedi" backpack. Old school style.

Nothing wrong with their designs looking old. They're very classic designs, and new for the sake of new is not important to me.
