Yes it is stock. I never could make Xpenology work.

Gotcha. Glad it is working again.

My ix2 was a bit weird a month back when it stopped responding completely. It needed a reboot but I had just left the site for a few months. Came back and finally rebooted it and it's fine. A reboot on these once in a while probably won't hurt.

Yes you are right about that, I mean the need to reboot from time to time.
I would like to make my PX4 work with Xpenology but I never got it to work. I wonder if there is any actualized manual to do it?

I think someone got xpenology to work on one in one of the lenovo threads, but I can't seem to find it right now. :(

Picked one up off eBay for $100, fooling around with it. I bought 4 14tb WD external drives at Best Buy for $200 each and shucked them. Problem with my 400D is that it refuses to post with all 4 drive slots occupied with the drives, just 2, it gets stuck in an eternal loop- turns on, the off then on, etc. I can insert the 2 drives after I boot into Unraid, but it’s a pain. Probably a BIOS issue.

Put 8GB of ddr3 in there and a 2tb nvme in the PCIe slot. Unraid works, with a few issues I’m trying to sort out,

in the end this seems just like a temporary stop-gap until I decide to upgrade to something better. It’s kind of slow, but just as a media server for an in home network to watch movies off of (not Plex, this thing isn’t fast enough to transcode anyways) it’s fine.

I speed tested the nvme drive in it, the reads are maxing out at like 180MBps, lol. Limitation of its crappy PCIe bus I think. Fast enough for a cache.

I wonder if I could replace the embedded motherboard in it with something more recent/powerful? The value in this is the case/power supply. It would have to have a PCIe slot that lines up with the drive bay’s controllers.

I can’t figure out if the current board that’s in there is a custom one of not.

Guys I had to reset my PX4-400d and now it doesn't want to install Transmission Torrent. The same happens with the IX4-300d. Does anyone knows what to do to install Transmission Torrent again? I'm on the last firmware.Could it be possible to recert back the firmware and install Transmission? Please help.

Have you tried poking around using the archive.org link in the Lenovo forum thread you are in?

When I try to install it gives an error that says: This update is for px4px6 model devices, and thisis a b4b model.
I'm doing it at the Application Manager app.

Well I ended buying a new nas (QNAP TS-453D) to fix the torrenting problem. This new nas has two 2.5Gbe ports. I want to make files transfers betwin the Lenovo PX4-400d and the Qnap as fast as possible. If I buy a 2.5 NIC for rhe PX4 would it work? Do I have to buy a specific card for this porpoise?

Qnap has a support list on their site. You need to make sure that the card you want is on it. Otherwise, you won't have a driver to make it work.

I would start the file transfer now with whatever hardware you have, just break it up into segments that take 24 hrs or less.

Hello guys. Just to let you all know I ended up using the PX4-400d as a remote-mount drive and is working great for me. I can manage all my downloads to the PX4-300 from the QNAP with no problem. The only downside is that the Qnap media applications do not see the drive but that is not a problem for me as I do not use them, I play all my files with a stand-alone media player (Zidoo Z9X). But I still would love it if someone could send me a copy of the Transmission app version for the PX4-400d. I already found the Transmission app for the IX4-300d and I'm giving that NAS to a friend.

Can someone tell me the best way to set the IX4-300d with a VPN private account from Surfshark or any other private service?

If I want to access my PX4-400d remotely I use my public IP and what is the standard port to use to communicate to it?
