Hmmm....this is making me reconsider ordering that Ainol Novo 7 Advanced earlier this week. Any idea how these 2 tablets compare?

$176 corporate perks was the last deal. then there was a deal with amex if you bought 6 (>$1000 it would come out at 154/unit).

This is not a deal imo.

It's a nice head's-up for those of us who've preordered a Fire or are just shopping for a <$250 tablet.

It's good to see the Fire bringing down tablet prices -- the Engadget review link says this 16 GB version was originally going to be priced at $249. Now people have the Fire, Ideapad and Nook to choose from instead of no-names.

I've got one, and a Koby 1Ghz/512mb 7022 and the difference is huge, Novel 7 rocks and for the $139/shipped I paid for it was a bargain IMO..

Games, and maybe better HD video playback. Mostly the games though.

I'm wondering if mobile app games can take advantage of a dual core, are they multi-threaded?, the Novo 7 has the Mali 400 GPU which works very well, my only problem is prying it out of the hands of my wife, LOL..

The nook color 2 is going to be announced on Monday Nov 7th. Here are the rumor specs for the rumor price of 249. The older nook color price will be dropped to $199

http://www.zdnet.com/blog/gadgetreviews/b-ns-nook-tablet-details-leaked-ahead-of-launch/28230

IPS screen at 1024x600, 7 inch
Omap 4 at 1.2 ghz (thus this cpu is pretty much the same as the kindle fire but with a 20% overclock should be model OMAP4430 or OMAP4460)
Double the Ram.
Double the onboard stoarage.
SD card slot so you can add up to another 32gb.
Slightly bigger but slightly lighter.

Tempting...

Well the good is it's backed by a major manufacturer, a big help vs a Chinese no-name and for it's price it's fair. TBO, I would wait to see how it performs, I don't see a GPU listed and it makes a world of difference, our Coby has similar spec's as the Novo I just got (1ghz/512) but the Novo is much, much faster due to it's integrated GPU.
