Leno on Oprah

Wouldn't the weight of his chin and the fatness of Oprah be to much for one area and cause a shift in the planets weight causing the planet to spiral into the sun?

So the worst male talk show host meets the worst female talk show host. It's a match made in heaven. If they had a kid together his name would be Jimmy Fallon.

I imagine they won't be all that hard hitting.

If anything NBC is jumping on the chance for the drama bump. In all this the two people who lose out the most are Leno as a villain) and Conan (without a show). The person who comes out on top is NBC.

Of course NBC goes on top. Some men offer mustache rides; Jay Leno offers chin rides.

Well it is NBC's and Leno's fault for sticking around with a show just before Conan and thus screwing up both their ratings so at least one of the idiots gets blamed.

Watching it now... pretty good so far. Of course, now I'm starting to feel a little bad for Jay as it appears that basically NBC told Leno back in 2004: "Conan's getting other offers, you're #1, but we don't care. Step aside and give this to Conan in 2009 because his people want to make an announcement."

I could really care less about this whole drama or late night talk shows in general as I never watch them...but I like Jay purely for his love for cars.

Yeah, that was pretty much the story. Darth Zucker is an idiot. I can't understand how that guy has kept his job after running NBC into the ground.

Leno is simply passing the blame to NBC. So everyone plays victim (conan & leno) while the big bad evil corporation (nbc) take the hit.

But it's clear Leno fucked it up. He was chose to retire, then came back, and now this.

He didn't choose to retire. He was forced out by NBC execs to stop Conan from leaving. I didn't realize this until now.

Is this what Jay is saying now, since shit has hit the fan or is this something that was floating around before all the drama and his 10 o'clock show got canceled?

I remember seeing some Jay quotes once he announced his retirement about wanting to take out his wife to dinner before he turned 60. Just hard to believe him when he is now firing all cylinders to rehabilitate his image from all this.

No, that's actually what happened. Most people have gotten it wrong (I got it wrong, and it's why I've been on Team Coco).

Basically, this is how it went down.

- Conan was getting offers from other networks (ABC, Fox).
- NBC didn't want to let Conan go.
- NBC was more interested in keeping Conan to carry the network from 2009 forward than they were about keeping Leno.
- NBC basically tells Leno, this will be Conan's show in 2009 -- you have 5 years to get used to that idea.

I have no reason to doubt Leno (now that I understand what went on) -- hell, the guy doesn't even use an agent. A handshake is good enough for him
