Length of X1900 vs 7800GT

Does anyone know how the X1900 compares in length to the 7800GT? As much as I love my EPoX board, they placed the IDE connections on the motherboard in the worst place. Anything longer than a 7800GT will cover at least one up. 🙁

Holy cow, I just can't imagine a card being longer than my GTX. I have a LanParty UT SLi-DR and my GTX covers up the mobo fan it's so long.

That's not too difficult since about any video card would do that on a DFI board.

Not another one of those NV vs ATi, "on yeah, my card is longer than your's" threads... 🙂

Edit: although some are more concerned with how many slots you fill. Some are a real stickler for keeping it to one slot at a time, others will shamelessly fill two or more.

My 7800GT runs right over the top of my chipset fan by ~1.5 inchs. No big deal, fan runs fine and moves the air pretty much unrestricted.

ROFLMAO!

According the to pics I've seen the X1800XL/XT and the X1900XT/XTX are the EXACT same length as a 7800GTX/GTX 512

So long as it actually fits in the case, who cares how long the card is or isn't. I'd love to have heard some of you lot back in the full length ISA days!

If clearance between cards & drives is a problem, get a decent case. I use a CoolerMaster Stacker.

I think his issues are with the IDE connectors on the mobo... A case won't help that.

Unless it's a really nasty m/b design, it should still be possible to use the IDE headers (though some some unfathomable reason, m/b makers delight in putting IDE headers in ridiculous spots) - you may have to plug the IDE cables in before the card is all.
