will it reall matter so as long as its priced ridiculously expensive? Even though the quality is lovely, I see Leica as pushing more of a life style brand in regards to the price it charges. Just like Fashion lol.

it'll all sound great and whatnot, but it's still insanely priced =) Though, every time I see RF stuff, I want to grab a Bessa. I'm just not good at getting my film developed in a timely fashion, heh

It will possibly be followed after a while by a new Lumix model - basically a rebadged Leica. Same lens but different electronics. :)

Looks like the Leica S2. $$$$

really lol? I did some searching and couldn't find something definitive. The best I found was a site that said they were, at one point, under the umbrella of the same company, but that was about it.

Anything more definitive?

That's what I was thinking.

Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see what comes on 9/9/9 at 9.

I would really like to have an X1. Looks like a nicely built and compact camera with (hopefully) high IQ..perfect as a 'take- everywhere' camera. :)
Atleast it has the option of an OVF, and IQ too should be better than the micro4/3rds.

Reg the sensor, the M9 has a Kodak FF CCD which seems rather strange when most others are heading towards CMOS. Perhaps they are aiming for better low ISO IQ at the expense of higher ISO IQ?

The X1, on the other hand, has a CMOS sensor, but it's not yet clear who's the manufacturer. Perhaps Kodak itself, or Panasonic?

CCD vs CMOS primer

in short, CCDs theoretically offer the best image quality and better sensitivity than CMOS sensors, at the expense of being slower, more expensive, and much higher power draw.
