Finally, we get the full setlist for Lego Rock Band (45 songs). This disc is 100% exportable to Rock Band (for a $10 fee), so you can use it as a giant track pack if you like. You can also use Rock Band DLC from within Lego Rock Band, but only if it qualifies for LRB's E10+ rating (Rock Band is rated T). I don't know why this article is whining about "censorship", of course they are restricting what goes into an E10+ game.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I really wish they would stop releasing disc-based RB/GH games and just release the songs as DLC. Once again, another RB/GH release, and only about 20% of the setlist is any good.

Meh, maybe when it's $20, otherwise, pass.

We will have to agree to disagree, because it looks pretty awesome to me. Also, I'm happy to experience some unfamiliar bands, because I now own CDs and have become fans of several bands due to introduction via Rock Band (Paramore, Coheed & Cambria, etc.).

Also, I've got to hand it to Harmonix here for setting a 100% export gold standard. None of this 40% crap.

I hear ya. Some good songs on that list but not worth another 50-60 bucks.

Hey, I'm a big Harmonix/Rock Band fan, and I love their Song Export policy (it's not quite 100%...a few songs in RB1 couldn't be exported :p), but still, spending $60 plus however much the export costs to only really play 5 songs is not a good deal in any way, shape or form.

Just give me DLC songs that I can pick which songs I want, and release a new, major Rock Band every two years or so to update the platform.

Guys, stop whining, this is Rock Band for kids. It makes sense that it would be on a separate disc rather than forcing the parents to set up parental controls (if they even exist; I'm not sure you can block all T-rated songs in RB2). I know that there is demand for a more kid-friendly Rock Band. I remember one time I was in a GameStop and an older lady came in wanting to return the game because it had songs she thought were inappropriate for her grandson (well, she said it was because there were "references to the occult," but to each her own). The clerk really couldn't help her. If Lego Rock Band had existed then, he could have just offered her that one instead.

Complaining about a "weak songlist" and "censorship" is like giving horrible reviews to that movie G-Force. OF COURSE you don't like it; it's for kids! Might be a decent game to rent-n-rip to get an extra 45 songs for $15, but we're just not in the target audience.

What I want to see is if they make special LEGO-themed instruments. That'd be fun!

I mean it is 100% for Lego Rock Band. Rock Band 1 export is about 95% (55/58).

Some one said it on the other thread, but it bears repeating. Bleh on the Queen songs. Why don't they just put star spangled banner on there while they're at it? I like Queen alright, just anything but those two songs.

Some good stuff on there, but it'd actually be nice if they released the songs as standalones in addition to the game at the same time. There's obviously no reason that they cannot do this.

So you don't like any of the dozen Queen songs that will be available over the next month? Man you people are hard to please. :p

I'm sure all 5 of the people playing this on the 10th instead of Modern Warfare 2 will have a blast.

I'll get around to that eventually. I haven't even played CoD4:MW yet, though I did finish CoD2 and CoD3. Coming into a console generation a few years after launch creates a big backlog, but the games are cheap at least. :)

CoD 4 is lightyears beyond 2, 3, and 5. 2 is worth playing, 3 and 5 aren't.

Sorry to go off topic.

Disagree on 5. I'm not saying it's a great game, but it is basically a reskinned COD4 with slightly less balanced killstreak bonuses (dogs are horseshit). Other than the dogs, it's really just like COD4, which is a good thing even though it makes it unoriginal.

I just finished 5 and was horribly dissappointed. Lets start by ripping off Enemy at the Gates, throw in an unimaginative story, boring/frusterating levels, and less detailed textures and you've got it. Yeah, they used the CoD 4 engine but I thought it was a flop. Multiplayer is terrible (choke point after choke point) except for Nazi Zombies.

It was a game meant to sell based off of CoD 4's success, I hated the beta, I didn't like the game itself (bought it, beat it, sold it in under 2 weeks).

I guess I can give you most of those points but in case you never played it, the first Call of Duty (PC only) also "ripped off" Enemy at the Gates. Didn't make that game's Stalingrad level any less awesome. But yeah, there were a lot of really dumb parts of 5. I wouldn't recommend it for the SP, although even 4 was annoying in single player (infinite enemies all over the place).

ANYWAY, I guess this is kinda off topic? Sorry for derailing the thread...

Actually they need to set it up so you have to build your guitar controller out of LEGO's...now THAT would be awesome!

It comes out the same day as MW2.

But anyways, this game was meant for kids, so I don't really see a problem with the playlist. I may even rent it for a weekend just to play a few songs. (and probably export it to RB2 )

You cannot rent and export, as there is a one-time use code included with the game. Unless by some miracle the code on the copy you rent hasn't already been used.

Damn, really? With Rock Band 1, you could just rent (or borrow) the game, buy the license to transfer the games, and transfer them. So Lego Rock Band doesn't work the same way? That's sucky.

EDIT: Though it doesn't really matter as I don't think having Lego Rock Band's setlist is worth even the cost of buying a transfer license.

Uh, yeah, they don't want you to steal the entire content of the disc for $10. How dare they get paid for their work.

What's with these lego theme games? do not want.

of course the song list is crap, most of the songs on these guitar hero games are old or not that popular when the games come out. a few on there are good, my fave being incubus' dig, a damn good song. the rest htey pretty much got because the record label gave it away for free because nobody would pay for it anymore.

Because paying money for something is stealing.
