For those of you with kids. My son broke a tiny piece on his garbage truck when it fell off the table. It took a minute to find the correct piece. Ten cents, plus one cent tax, and free shipping.


Update: Well it took almost three weeks but the Lego arrived. All the way from the factory in Denmark for eleven cents.

My daughter lost one of her Lego princesses down the drain. Wife contacted Lego and they shipped her a free replacement all the way from Denmark. Free shipping too.

Great company.
 
Price isn't too bad. According to the boxes, the CAD$ 25 sets I recently got for shits and giggles contained about 220 pieces a pop. At US$0.10 a piece, that's about right.

P.S. I had a ton of Lego in a basket, most taken apart, missing instructions, so I thought they were only good for scrap. Well, turned out that instructions were available on the Lego support site for sets back to 2000-ish (?). Jackpot!

If you have men on your ship, they can move the cannons to the other side.

If you are double flanked, you are fucked anyway.

No. That's the perfect situation. You wait until the ships on either side of you are about to fire their cannon. Then you throw out the anchor, coming to an immediate halt. The enemies fire, destroying each other, and then you sail on, laughing as they sink in your wake.

That's one thing movies and TV got correct.

Totally wrong.

You throw the anchor overboard. It catches on, like, a rock or something. The rope or chain goes taut with a comical "boing" sound. The boat halts immediately. All the sailors except the mighty captain fall down due to the sudden stop. Most likely, the fat cook in the galley falls face first into a cream pie.

Learn some damn science, why don't you?
 
When I was a kid, we actually used our imaginations and made stuff out of the square and rectangular bricks. Today there a billion different little doodads that you don't make anything out of - they just are what they are. Did I see a dog bone on the page? And they have a $120 kit to build a freaking VW camper van? WTF?

Don't worry, they're printing money right now if the stock levels at stores are any indication. The Amazon.ca selection, sold by Amazon, is gutted compared to a month earlier. Other local-ish stores are out of stock on tons of thins.
