26 years old and I still tinker with my Legos from time to time. I wish they would release some really involved builds. Or maybe just the plans and you use what you have to build it. Something like the higher end model building but with Lego pieces.

Is there a place where you can purchase individual Lego pieces? I have several old sets that I would love to rebuild but over the years some of the pieces have been either lost or misplaced. Some piece are just standard bricks but there is also more unique Lego pieces.

My mom bought my daughter a whole bunch of duplo blocks. She's almost 2, and loves building towers. When she's got one that's large, she comes over, tells me "Big!" holds it up, and smacks me in the head. I hate duplos.

I've been thinking about building some old school 8-bit pieces out of legos. Like taking the old sprites from mario and converting them into lego pieces. I haven't done anything as I'm not sure as to how well the pieces match the original colors. Does anyone know if the blocks come anything close to the color palette in say, Super Mario Brothers on the NES?

You should do it anyway.

Thanks for the link. Currently at work right now so I don't have the numbers in front of me but I have already for a couple of pieces that I can remember. :)

I will buy anyone's Lego set that is just collecting dust. I'm rebuilding my collection for the day I find time and friends to play with.

Going rate for bulk pieces is $6/lb.

How much for a alternator size worth in bulk?

Every summer I go to garage sales in search of legos...
Man I wish they still sold the good old sets.

qft. The old lego sets were the best. I always liked town. The second gen old police station was amazing--and the airport. I loved the marina too, but never got it. I shouldn't really complain though when each of the large sets were around a 100 dollars each.

I'd love to build them all again (still have the instructions) but hunting for the pieces is just too monumental a task.
