I should hope so! I made my questions very clear and on point. As others have.

I don't see how your question is some how trying to derail the thread.

It's a legitimate question. How am I supposed to know if this is a success? What if the previous driver was downloaded 10 million times?

Without any comparison figure it really doesn't help.

This news article means nothing to me unless I know how what I'm comparing it to.

They're obviously proud to reach the 2 million mark in a week. One doesn't have to be a rocket scientist to see that usually that's not the case. They might get 500,000 downloads within a week after launching regular drivers but if they made the effort to come out publicly and thanks people for that is because it's a milestone.

I really don't know why some are saying this is not news, maybe for them it's not but for some it is. This even got posted on a very well known site. Let it be.

Well that's the point? People want to know what the normal figures are.

Is that not a reasonable question to ask?

Post 18 raises the question all by itself without any of the other logical and common sense questions I've seen in this thread. So in contrast, I don't know why you arent asking the same questions.

How do you expect people here to answer this question to you guys? If this made the news it's probably because it's something not common don't you think?

Both of my AMD GPU computers prompted me to download the driver this week. I've never seen CCC ask me to download anything. That's not hyperbole either - I have NEVER had AMD drivers auto-update or prompt me to upgrade drivers. I wonder if that has anything to do with the success?

Since Keys mentioned your post i'll take a stab

Every now and them i get a small window popping up upon starting my pc's with AMD cards to update, something similar to this:

Now i don't know what settings you have but please check them

My post above is proof that we AMD users do get offers to update. You always assume the worst about said company, now i wonder why... So quick to side with the poster, sad you know?

How do you translate my questions and other's questions as assuming the worst about said company? We are curious at what makes this driver launch special in any way shape or form, worthy of an announcement of the number of downloads in the thread in a tech forum. But the only place your mind can go is into defense mode and accusatory mode. End it. It's beyond ridiculous at this point now.

How many times were the last 3 driver releases downloaded in the first week?
That guy in post 18 said he NEVER received an update prompt from his drivers before. Never. So maybe AMD turned it on for those who didn't have it on. Listen man, you'd do a lot better to just try and find out answers than attack and insult others for asking questions in the first place and accusing of others thinking the worst. Which you shouldn't even care about to begin with.

Omega driver release has many many bug fixes and a fair amount of performance improvements. Regular drivers usually don't have as many

No, we're different. I will defend Nvidia if i have to. Everybody knows that when it comes to AMD you always have the best of the intentions

How many times were the last 3 driver releases downloaded in the first week?

Again, how can you be asking that to another forum member? Do we work for AMD? Do you expect us to have inside info? See, not everybody has affiliation or ties with a company to get that kind of information

worthy of an announcement of the number of downloads in the thread in a tech forum

Why does it bother you???? If you really think that this is not relevant to be here or be posted in more than one very popular website, don't even read it. Just ignore it. But how can you ignore it right?????

Which you shouldn't even care about to begin with
And you should? Get a grip dude

It's a legit question, how can we know it's good if we have no historical data? We can assume this is a good thing, maybe that it is higher than usually or go all conspiracy about how amd always gets these numbers but wanted to make a statement.

Legit question, ok no issues with that but to seek a precise answer here is wishful thinking at best, that's where i'm trying to get at.

Maybe if I had identified as being ProAMD I would have been treated as nicely as he treated you monstercameron when asking a simple question....

I found it a bit odd as well. I've never seen a thread about how many times a driver has been downloaded, but I would imagine if it's 2 million in the first week, it is more than usual? The driver itself is a bit different from usual from what I understand. Maybe this should be merged with the Omega driver thread. I dunno...

I am not even dealing with this pointless thread anymore. We have an Omega Driver discussion thread already. Use it and quit arguing.
