If he wants to meet her face to face why doesn't he just bring the Mac with him?

The guy lives in France. He doesn't want to come meet her face to face :p California and France are a long ways apart.

reread his email. He most definitely says he can't wait to meet face to face.

My remark, though, was more to present why this is a hoax. If they guy wants to meet face to face, well then let's meet and the transaction that way. Unless, he's using that term to mean they agree on the terms.

France? His auction states location as United Kingdom

His auction states UK at the top, but if you look over to the right, it says his location is France. That UK part, you can edit to say whatever you want.

I mentioned all this to her (well ... she's able to read this from work). And she looked up information on refurbished models. And yes, apparently she really needs a mac for some graphic design programs she already has (or were given to her ... something of the sort). Thanks everyone for your help :)

It looks like a scam to me.

You've already been advised many more times than not that this is a scam. You seem to be hellbent though on coming back with something to make this deal sound legit. Do you know the seller and are you getting a kickback? LOL

Seriously, if your friend goes through with this, she should sue you for the return of her money for you pushing her into buying it.

IT'S A SCAM!!!

ETA - On a side note, the auction is over ($1375.00 USD) and that seller has no other auctions up. Hopefully your friend is not kyle_nonneman.

I never was pushing her into buying it. I told her, that it wasn't a good idea, but she wasn't sure since she didn't really have anyone else to turn to (and I'm only 1 opinion that says "NO"). And no, her ebay ID isn't kyle_nonneman. And to set the record straight, I was trying to get a better answer than, "No, it's a scam" ... because obviously, if I only posted that and said, "Is this a scam?" that's what everyone would say ... and that's what ... everyone did say at first.
