Hmmm...could they be the same scams that have been running rampant for years and posted on ATOT for all to see? Why yes...yes, I think they are.

How could they scam me if I am the seller and don't ship till I get payment?

Trust me, techie, they are scams. Variations of this have been posted time and time again and they are almost always from Africa. These scams are a big industry over there because gullible people are still falling for them.

Think about it. Do you really think you are the only person clear across the Atlantic on another continent who can provide that phone to them?

nice touch. I wonder which one Faith has, is it a Ph.D or MD. I'm leaning toward the Doctor of Bullsh!t degree.

if you're bored, you could always email the scammer and ask 😀

Depends. I'm in Denmark right now and I've gotten phones off eBay from the US before. It's significantly cheaper with triband GSM and unlocking and using it with a prepaid service than getting a phone with a plan.

First, buy a Used time machine off eBay so you can send the phone to this African prince, that way he can make it in time for his cousin's New Year. who apparently must take the short bus because today is the 6th.

You assume too much. What makes you so sure its really from Africa? I traced the source of one scammer's IP to Northern Europe once, eventhough he claimed to be from Africa.

Most of these types of scams rely on a very believable faked version of a legitimate payment source (Money Order, Cashier's Check, etc). Unfortunately, by the time the forgery is caught, several weeks or months have passed, your particular bank deducts the amount from your account, and quite a mess ensues with the most remote of chances you will ever receive the funds you deserve, or see your "buyer" again.

yes, they mail you a fake check or money order, you ship, then the payment backfires and you were scammed

my rule is, if they cant speak english, im not selling to them. also, i dont do "favors" except for my friends

Yep I get them all the time, I literally tell them to fvck off, they use buy it now to end my auction, I report them, their new account gets frozen, I have to relist & ask eBay for my listing fees back...

I put stuff in my auctions: NO OVERSEAS SALES, DON'T EVEN ASK.

I really wish eBay would screen out the assholes better.

Agreed. I have learned it's just not worth my time to deal with shipping outside the lower 48. My items sell just fine here in the continental U.S. so I am not dealing with any extra hassle even if it was a legit buyer.

Actually I don't give a flying f^ck where they are from. My point was it was a scam, plain and simple. Even your addled brain should have picked that up.
