Legality of selling computers on eBay?

If I buy a brand new computer from Dell, and then turn around and ship it on eBay (taking care to transfer the warranty), are there any legal implications from this? And what is Dell's stance on this? How about instead of just one computer, I sell 100? I just ask because I see a lot of deals in the Hot Deals forum for new Dell computers, and I imagine a lot of them go straight to eBay. Thanks!

I'm sure that Dell's not thrilled, but there's no legal reason not to as long as they aren't represented as Dell being the seller.

warranties for commodities rarely transfer from the original owner, it isn't a car

but i don't know, i just would "guess" that dell/HP/gateway would only support to the original owner

i dunnno

You can transfer the warranty on Dells site very easily. Just be careful doing this, Dell will realize what you are doing and you will be banned from purchasing from them. I know someone who has gone through this.

dell warranties are transferable. as a seller you are required to remit sales tax to the state if you and the buyer are in the same state.

Of course, you'll have to ignore these statements from Dell...but a true Ferengi will.........
